Contract Duration:

  • 1 month probationary period 
  • 1 Year after signing with the possibility to extend on a month by month basis

Social Media Manager Duties 

  • Design and implement a social media strategy to align with the organization's goals 
  • Generate, edit, publish and share engaging content 3x per week in a consistent manner (e.g. original text, photos, videos, and news) 
  • Post on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and other designated social media platforms 
  • Use analytical tools such as Facebook insights to monitor and evaluate our social media presence and performance. 
  • Label and upload to the appropriate Friends of Moldova drive folder only the photos and videos used on social media posts. 
  • Attend bi-weekly committee meetings 
  • Prepare monthly reports on social media marketing efforts to present once a month at bi-weekly committee meetings
  • Visit our partners, grantees, and local community members locations to gather content in the form of photos, videos, and interviews regarding project activities 
  • Prepare context, updates, and make edits to posts with guidance from FoM staff
  • Communicate with followers, respond to queries in a timely manner or direct queries to members who have proper responses, and monitor reviews 
  • Oversee social media accounts’ design (e.g. Facebook timeline cover, profile pictures, and blog layout) 
  • Suggest and implement new features to develop organizational  awareness 
  • Make website updates 
  • Post across platforms, in English, Romanian, and Russian 
  • Perform other duties when needed

Requirements and Skills

  • 3 or more years of social media experience including planning and managing content in an organizational, or agency setting 
  • Fluent in English, Romanian, and Russian
  • A commitment to serving in this position for at least 1 year
  • Multi-tasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks
  • Hands-on experience in content management 
  • Excellent copy-writing skills 
  • Skilled in Photography and Videography
  • Skilled in Canva or similar commonly available visual editing programs
  • Ability to attend meetings in the evenings and on weekends when needed to accommodate US time zones
  • Have good internet access and computer (or laptop) to work independently from home or at any other place.
  • Ability to independently collaborate with partners, donors, and recipients
  • Ability to deliver creative content (text, image, and video) 
  • Solid knowledge of SEO, keyword research, and Google Analytics 
  • Knowledge of online marketing channels 
  • Familiarity with web design 
  • Experience using various analytics software
  • Excellent communication skills 
  • Analytical and multitasking skills
