Organizational Context and Scope:

Under the overall supervision of the Chief of Mission (CoM) in the Republic of Moldova and direct supervision of the CCCM Program Officer; and, in collaboration with relevant units of IOM Moldova, the successful candidate will work in Regional IOM Info Centre in Balti, to provide high quality information about services aimed to migrants, potential migrants, returnees, asylum seekers and enable them to make informed decisions that affect their mobility, integration and economic and social prosperity.

Responsibilities and Accountabilities:  

  1. Provide general/clerical assistance in the implementation of project activities.
  1. Retrieve, compile, summarize, and present information/data on specific project topics.
  2. Assist in monitoring budget and updating budget related information.  
  3. Support administrative coordination for project implementation, involving liaison with diverse organizational units or external parties to initiate requests, obtain necessary clearances, process, and follow-up on administrative actions.
  4. Draft status reports, correspondence, briefing notes, graphics, statistical tables, presentations, and other forms of documentation.
  5. Support the organization of meetings, workshops and training sessions.
  6. Respond to general information requests and inquiries; set up and maintain files/records. 
  7. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications and Experience 

Education:   

  • School diploma with three years of relevant experience; or,
  • Bachelor’s degree in political or social sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law or related fields from an accredited academic institution with one years of relevant professional experience.

Experience:  

  • Experience in working with migrants, refugees, internally displaced persons, victims of trafficking and other vulnerable groups; and,
  • Prior work experience with international humanitarian organizations, non-government or government institutions/organization in a multi-cultural setting is an advantage.
  • of migrants and refugees and understanding of one-stop-shops concept,
  • Experience in working in diverse humanitarian contexts (refugee, migrant, IDPs) and understanding of nexus approaches.

Languages: 

Fluency in English and Romanian is required (oral and written).

Appointment will be subject to certification that the candidate is medically fit for appointment, accreditation, any residency or visa requirements, security clearances, and a valid COVID certification.

Only candidates residing in either the country of the duty station or from a location in a neighbouring country that is within commuting distance of the duty station will be considered.

In all cases, a prerequisite for taking up the position is legal residency in the country of the duty station, or in the neighbouring country located within commuting distance, and work permit, as applicable.
