GIZ - Advisor on SME Digitalisation

GIZ is looking for an Advisor on SME Digitalisation for the project “Digital transformation of small and medium sized enterprises in Eastern Partnership countries”, which is financed by the German Government.

This position is expected to start on 01.06. or later for a 12-month period, with the possibility of extension until 02.2026. The advisor will be responsible for covering the project activities in Moldova and will be based in Chisinau.

The primary role of the Advisor is to implement the technical, substantive, and organisational measures and activities of the project.

The overall responsibilities covered by this position are as follows:

  • Advising the partner institution(s) in Moldova
  • Networking and cooperation
  • Knowledge management
  • Coordination tasks

Required qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in economics, management or in a related area
  • At least 2 years of relevant professional experience
  • At least 2 years of professional experience in innovation/ digitalisation promotion in SMEs obtained in an international organisation, a public entity, or an industrial association
  • Ability and experience (at least 2 years) to work in a political environment
  • Experience in innovation and/ or digitalisation promotion or working in the digital sector or in an innovative business (e.g. in an innovative start-up or an R&D department) would be an advantage
  • Experience in the private sector, especially in an SME would be an advantage
  • Business fluent command of Romanian, Russian and English language (verbally and written)
  • Knowledge of German would be an advantage
  • Good working knowledge of ITC technologies and computer applications (e.g. MS Office)
  • Experienced to work in an international team would be an advantage
  • Good self-organisation skills
  • Customer and service-oriented attitude
  • Willingness to upskill as required by the tasks to be performed
  • Readiness to travel as required by the project
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Moldovan citizenship or holding permanent resident status in Moldova.
