IT Specialist for the GIZ Country Office Chisinau

The German Development Cooperation through GIZ is looking for an IT Specialist for the GIZ Country Office Chisinau.

The IT Specialist will ensure the operationality and functionality of IT system and equipment at the GIZ Country Office and GIZ projects implemented in Moldova.

The overall responsibilities provided for this position are as follows:

  • ensuring that the IT systems of the GIZ Country Office and projects operate and function in a technically correct manner and as provided by GIZ rules;
  • ensuring the compliance with GIZ IT standards;
  • ensuring data security at the operational level;
  • providing technical support to projects and programmes by dealing with questions and problems relating to IT and databases.

Required qualifications:

  • Batchelor and/or Master degree in Informational Technologies or another comparable background;
  • familiarity with network systems and database software, as well as basic understanding of specific GIZ software/applications (SAP, WINPACCS, etc.);
  • at least 3 years’ professional experience in a related position;
  • outstanding working knowledge of ITC technologies (software, phone, fax, email, Internet) and computer applications (e.g. MS Office, Skype for Business);
  • experience in configuring and maintaining videoconference equipment;
  • knowledge of national and international legislation on data protection and security;
  • very good written and oral knowledge of English and Romanian, ideally a knowledge of German;
  • politeness and helpfulness in dealing with colleagues;
  • experience in working with international organizations and/or projects; ability to work in an intercultural environment;
  • outstanding organizational skills, ability to multitask and reply to inquires upon short notice;
  • very trustworthy and loyal;
  • flexibility and willingness to upskill as required by the tasks to be performed – corresponding measures are agreed with management;
  • Moldovan citizenship or holding permanent resident status in Moldova.
