CALL FOR INTEREST: ENTREPRENEURIAL GROWTH AND FINANCIAL LITERACY INITIATIVE (EGFLI) FOR THE NORTH REGION OF MOLDOVA AND CHISINAU
Introduction:
Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) in partnership with the Association of Female Entrepreneurs in Moldova (AFAM), is thrilled to announce the launch of an innovative initiative titled “Entrepreneurial Growth and Financial Literacy Initiative (EGFLI)” tailored specifically for the North Region of Moldova, focusing on Ocnita and Soroca areas and Chisinau. The project is funded by the Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation (NORAD).
Objective:
This initiative aims to empower refugees, Third Country Nationals, and vulnerable local communities including Roma Community in the North Region of Moldova, enhancing their economic inclusion through entrepreneurship and financial literacy. Our goal is to support these groups in achieving self-reliance and sustainable income generation.
Program Duration: February - November 2024
Targeted Communities residing in the North Region of Moldova and Chisinau are:
- Refugees
- Third Country Nationals
- Vulnerable locals in Ocnita and Soroca
Program Highlights:
- Specialized Entrepreneurship and Financial Literacy Training
- Advanced Soft Skills Development Modules
- Customized English/Romanian Language Courses based on individual needs
- Supportive Childcare Services for participants with children
- Comprehensive Transportation Assistance to ensure accessibility
- Exclusive Mentorship, Coaching, and Counseling Sessions to guide participants through their entrepreneurial journey
Special Opportunity for Participants:
Twenty exceptional participants will be chosen to receive a significant grant of up to 100,000,00 Moldovan Lei to jumpstart their business ventures. This grant represents our commitment to support economic growth and our trust in your ability to contribute positively to your community.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Legal Status & Residency: Must have legal status in Moldova or a clear intent to obtain such, residing in Ocnita, Soroca, or nearby areas.
- Age Requirement: Must be 18 years or older.
- Entrepreneurial Intent: Demonstrated capability and interest in starting and running a business within Moldova.
- Language Proficiency: Proficiency in Russian is required, as the program will be conducted in this language.
- Commitment: Availability to fully participate in the program from April to November 2024.
- Childcare Needs: Participants with children are encouraged to apply and should indicate any childcare needs.
- Humanitarian Priority: Those with urgent humanitarian needs will be prioritized.
- Program Readiness: A strong interest in entrepreneurship training, soft skills development, and mentorship.
Selection Process:
Out of the many applicants, 40 promising participants will be chosen for a holistic educational experience. This includes dedicated training in entrepreneurship, enhancement of soft skills, and proficiency development in language courses.
However, commitment and action remain the cornerstone of this program. Out of these 40 participants, only 20 who manifest a clear desire to pursue their entrepreneurial journey and can effectively draft a precise business plan during the training and mentoring sessions will progress to the next phase. These selected participants will be provided with grants up to 100,000 Moldovan Lei to transform their entrepreneurial ideas into tangible ventures, be it on an individual scale or as part of a collaborative enterprise.
