USAID Moldova High Value Agriculture Activity (HVAA) implemented by Chemonics International, Inc. is seeking a Web content development specialist to support the National Beekeepers Association of the Republic of Moldova (NBARM) to develop content for its existing but outdated website, www.anarm.md. The association has a website that needs critical improvement and content additions.

This five-year project aims to further stimulate the transformation of the Moldovan high-value agricultural (HVA) sector into an engine of economic growth for the country leading to improved competitiveness and higher living standards for rural Moldovans in the long term.

Position Description:

The Web content development specialist will be responsible for writing content for the website, providing recommendations on best practices in web content development, and working in close coordination with an IT/web developer provided by the association to make the changes to the site.

Principal tasks:

  •  Meet with the NBARM president and with the IT/web design specialist, provided by the Association, to review website site map, to gain thorough understanding of the association’s activities, as well as the objectives and target audiences for the website, and collect proposed content information.
  • Develop a list of priority content to be developed and timeline for implementation. Submit timeline to the USAID HVAA project for approval.
  • Based on approved timeline, develop new content for the Association site web pages. This includes: text and images for the site pages, presentation of member information, and other content as necessary. All content will be developed in Romanian. Submit to the USAID HVAA project and NBARM for approval.
  • Provide guidance to the Association’s leadership on best practices in writing for websites.


  • List of content to be developed for site, and timeline for implementation of activity.
  • Content for site pages and member information, based on approved list.
  • Summary of copy-editing activities performed on the website.

Required Skills and Qualifications 

  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in strategic communications, public relations, or journalism.
  • A bachelor’s degree in public relations, mass communications, or journalism
  • Proven experience in content development for web sites or social media
  • Strong writing skills
  • Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity
  • USAID experience strongly preferred
  • Fluency in Romanian and English; strong Russian-language skills preferred

Level of Effort:

This assignment will require a maximum of 15 days of LOE.
