The Fulbright Teaching Excellence and Achievement Program (Fulbright TEA) brings international teachers to the United States for a six-week program that offers academic seminars for professional development at a host university. Teachers are nominated to participate in the Fulbright TEA Program based on their educational experience, academic training, leadership and professional experience. The program provides outstanding current secondary-level, full-time teachers of English, English as a Foreign Language (EFL), math, science, or social studies (civics, history, geography, global studies, etc.), including special education teachers in those subjects at institutions serving primarily a local population with unique opportunities to develop expertise in their subject areas, enhance their teaching skills and increase their knowledge about the United States.

Teachers come to the United States from all world regions for a six-week academic program at a U.S. university graduate school of education. Upon returning home, teachers will be expected to share the knowledge and experience gained on the program with teachers and students in their home schools and within their communities.
