GIZ - Security Risk Management Advisor
GIZ is looking for a Security Risk Management Advisor for the Security Risk Management (SRM) team within the GIZ Country Office. The SRM supports all projects of the German state development cooperation and fulfils tasks to support the delivery capability and the best possible guarantee of personal security of its clientele. The SRM provides services in three fields of action: (1) information and advice, (2) coordination of missions, and (3) crisis prevention and management.
This position is expected to start on 01.01.2025 for a 12-month period, with the possibility of extension.
The overall responsibilities covered by this position are as follows:
- Incident monitoring and updates information on security database, analyses and security presentations.
- Recording and documenting all databases, lists, phone cascades.
- Planning, coordinating and documenting meetings, workshops, seminars and other project activities with a focus on technical aspects.
- Occupational Health and Safety of all GIZ offices.
- Develops training requirements and schedules for First Aid trainings, Emergency route trainings, Health and Safety trainings.
- Site security assessments on office buildings, GDC staff accommodations, hotels and project sites.
- Deputize the International SRM Advisors in their absence.
- Coordinates and assists in preparing and conducting security related products and information.
- Providing inputs to security and political developments to the SRM team.
- Monitoring the political and security situation in Ukraine and surrounding countries.
- Performs other duties and tasks at the request of management.
- Building of national network with other entities in security industry.
Other tasks:
- To support in drafting of monthly statistics data and graphs when needed.
- To support and enable the effective and timely response to all security-related threats and other emergencies.
- To ensure effective risk mitigation through the establishment of a coordinated security threat and risk assessment mechanism within the framework of a common, system-wide methodology.
- Support the development of high-quality, best-practise security policies, standards and operational procedures for GIZ, including the appropriate degree of standardization.
- To support implementation and monitor compliance with those security policies, standards and operational procedures.
Required qualifications:
- University degree (or equivalent) in political science, international studies, or equivalent field.
- At least 3 years’ professional experience in an international organisation in a comparable position.
- A good knowledge of the political and security context is an asset.
- Working with International NGO is an asset.
- Strong computer skills, particularly in MS Office application (e.g. word, excel, PowerPoint).
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Excellent communication, writing, and presentation skills with the ability to portray complex situations in an easily digestible manner to different audiences, as storyteller and contributor to managerial decision-making.
- Ability to work under stressful conditions, self-initiator, flexible and able to work with people of different backgrounds, service oriented, friendly personality, well organized and motivated.
- Willingness to upskill as required by the tasks to be performed.
- Fluent in English and Romanian.
- Be able to work over hours and weekends, if necessary, be available for standby duty on a regular basis.
- Moldovan citizenship or holding permanent resident status in Moldova.
