Project HOPE Moldova is looking for a Communications Officer (full time, Chisinau)



Project HOPE, the People-to-People Health Foundation, Inc., is a global health and humanitarian non-profit organization with 65 years of experience in 100+ countries, empowering local health workers and 
addressing urgent health needs through 500+ programs, is a global health and humanitarian non-profit organization dedicated to providing long-lasting solutions to global health problems, placing power in the hands of local health workers, and improving the quality of life for the world’smost vulnerable people. Project HOPE aims to improve access to quality care for vulnerable groups in the Republic of Moldova by strengthening the health system for vulnerable people including foreign people and strengthening the network of health services in under-resourced and underserved communities.

The Communications Officer works to increase Project HOPE’s visibility and raise awareness of the humanitarian issues that Project HOPE addresses. This position is responsible for Project HOPE’s in-country 
media relations and creation of content used to promote Project HOPE’sresponse. The Communications Officer will contribute to these efforts by serving as the field lead with the support and oversight of Project HOPE’sGlobal Communications department as needed.

Main Responsibilities :

  • Creating compelling content across various platforms, including website articles, blog posts, social media updates, newsletters, press releases, and promotional materials. 
  • Developing and executing social media strategies to increase the organization's online presence and engagement. This involves managing social media accounts, crafting posts, responding to comments, and analyzing metrics to optimize performance. 
  • Cultivating relationships with journalists and media outlets to secure coverage for the organization's initiatives, events, and campaigns. This includes drafting press releases, pitching stories, and coordinating interviews. 
  • Facilitating communication and collaboration among staff members, volunteers, and other internal stakeholders. This could involve producing internal newsletters, organizing staff meetings, and ensuring consistent messaging across departments. 
  • Assisting in the planning and execution of events, such as fundraisers, conferences, and awareness campaigns. This may involve coordinating logistics, promoting events, and producing materials like posters and invitations. 
  • Working closely with other departments, including program teams, fundraising, and advocacy, to align communications equivalent combination of education.

Educational background: Bachelor’s degree in journalism, marketing or other related field, or 
equivalent combination of education.    

Language Skills: English + Romanian
