The United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN Women) Moldova Office plans to select an organization (Civil Society Organizations, registered in Moldova) or a Consortium of organizations (registered in Moldova) to advance women in cutting-edge science, technology, and engineering, by increasing the entrepreneurial and innovation capacity of higher education institutions, and cooperation with technological start-ups and scale-ups to create inclusive and sustainable employment opportunities.
This call for proposals is announced in the framework of the Project “EVOLVE4GE: Ending Violence, Expanding Livelihood Opportunities for Women and Accelerating Gender Governance in Moldova” funded by the European Union and implemented by UN Women.
The overall goal of the project EVOLVE4GE is to ensure that women and girls, including those at greatest risk of being left behind, have improved access to resources, equal opportunities, and rights to enjoy a life without discrimination and violence. Building upon these results, UN Women is committed to continuing its efforts to address systemic barriers, foster women’s active participation in technological innovation and leadership, and create inclusive opportunities in STEM. To achieve sustainable results, UN Women aims to engage a responsible party to lead a comprehensive initiative, focusing on raising awareness, inclusive opportunities, strategic collaborations, and creating pathways for women and girls to contribute to and benefit from advancements in technology and innovation.
The total budget available for this call for proposal is up to USD 100,000.00. The proposals are expected to start from March 2025 and be implemented within a period of 18 months and to be completed not later than end of September 2026. UN Women invites eligible applicants to submit their proposal, as elaborated in this advertisement.
