Peace Corps Moldova Pre-Service Training (PST) Senior Language and Culture Facilitator (Senior LCF)

LOCATION: Based in Chișinău, Moldova
CLASSIFICATION: Intermittent contracted position for mid-April-August 2026-2030.
COMPENSATION: Daily rate of 46.34 USD

Pre-Service Training (PST) Senior Language and Culture Facilitator (Senior LCF)
The PST Senior Language and Culture Facilitator (Senior LCF) coordinates and delivers language, culture, and community integration training for Peace Corps Trainees (PST). Working closely with the Training Manager, Language and Community Integration Coordinator (LCIC), and Training staff, the Senior LCF ensures high-quality language instruction, intercultural learning, and community integration activities that support Trainees’ successful adjustment and performance in Moldova.
The Senior LCF provides technical leadership to Language and Culture Facilitators (LCFs), contributes to curriculum development and assessment, and supports the integration of language and culture across all PST training components.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
Language, Culture, and PACA Teaching
- Facilitate language, culture, and intercultural learning sessions aligned with PST objectives.
- Adapt teaching approaches based on Trainee needs and feedback.
- Develop and revise lesson plans, learning materials, assessments, and activities for in-person and online delivery.
- Conduct language assessments and contribute to evaluation of Trainee progress.
- Support Trainees’ “language-in-action” practice through community-based activities.
- Serve as a language resource for Peace Corps staff and Trainees.
Technical Training Support
- Provides professional and technical support to Language and Culture Facilitators.
- Assists with facilitation techniques, curriculum development, and assessments.
- Supports Trainees during technical practicum activities (e.g., model schools, community projects).
Integration with Training Team
- Collaborates with staff to integrate language and culture into training components.
- Coordinates language and intercultural activities with technical training sessions.
- Work with the Host Family Coordinator to support Trainee integration and address challenges.
- Provides feedback and recommendations to improve training quality.
Volunteer Competency and Learning Development Plan (LDP)
- Supports implementation of the Peace Corps Competency Model and Trainee.
- Assists with assessment planning and performance documentation.
- Contributes to Roundtable Feedback and eligibility determinations for swearing-in.
Logistics and Community Coordination
- Represent Peace Corps Moldova with community officials and partners as needed.
- Assists with logistical coordination of PST activities.
- Provides recommendations for future collaboration with PST sites.
Safety, Security, and Compliance
- Monitors PST safety and security during language and cultural activities.
- Ensures compliance with Peace Corps policies, standards of conduct, and safeguarding requirements.
Conferences and Staff Development
- Participates in Training of Trainers (TOTs), Pre-Service Training, and staff conferences.
- Supports onboarding and training of new Language and Culture Facilitators.
- Contributes to end-of-training evaluations and recommendations.
Required Qualifications
- University degree required.
- Experience teaching or training adults.
- Excellent proficiency in Romanian and Russian; strong working knowledge of English.
- Experience in curriculum development, facilitation, and assessment.
- Strong intercultural communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and in a multicultural environment.
- Flexibility, professionalism, and strong organizational skills
- Exposure to or experience with foreigners preferred.
