The Alliance of Small and Medium Enterprises from Moldova (AIM) is a non-governmental, membership-based business association founded as an” Employers Association” in 2016. AIM has 120 members, SMEs from different industries, and encourages and protects the development and growth of the small business sector and investments in the Republic of Moldova through networking, resourcing, and advocacy activities performed by the members of the alliance.
AIM is pleased to announce the commencement of a new project, "Engaging SMEs in Promoting Current Economic Reforms". The project is supported by the generous assistance of the American people through the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) under the Moldova Institutional and Structural Reforms Activity and is designed to fundamentally transform the business landscape in Moldova. Over a period of 12 months, the project will enable stakeholders to actively engage in the reform process, thereby increasing transparency, building trust, and nurturing a business environment that promotes economic growth and facilitates Moldova's integration into the European Union.
Position Opening: Project Manager
AIM seeks to employ a Project Manager to manage and lead the implementation of the project ”Engaging SMEs in Promoting Current Economic Reforms”.
Contract type: individual employment contract with a fixed term, full-time involvement (100%).
Employment period: 12 months, until January 2026.
Key Responsabilities:
- Oversee the implementation of the project, ensuring that all activities are executed according to the planned schedule and budget.
- Coordinate the project team, ensuring effective collaboration and communication between all members
- Develop and monitor the project’s work plan, ensuring that milestones and deliverables are met within the allocated time frame.
- Ensure that activities adhere to the outlined goals and objectives, promoting interaction and dialogue between SMEs and experts/government representatives.
- Coordinate logistical elements such as transportation, materials preparation, and event promotion (including working with media partners to ensure coverage).
- Develop and implement a monitoring and evaluation plan to track project progress, participation, and feedback.
- Manage the project’s budget, ensuring that resources are allocated effectively and within the approved financial plan.
- Work with the Project Director to ensure that all expenses are documented, and the project remains within budgetary constraints.
- Coordinate with external contractors (event logistics, media relations, communication strategy consultants) to ensure they deliver services as per the contract terms.
- Prepare regular progress reports on the project’s activities, results, and challenges, and submit them to the Project Director and Steering Committee.
- Ensure that all project activities are documented thoroughly, including event reports, media coverage, feedback, and participant data.
- Prepare the final project report at the end of the project, summarizing key achievements, lessons learned, and recommendations for future initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Experience: in project management, particularly in coordinating multi-stakeholder initiatives.
- Experience in managing events and working with SMEs or public sector organizations is a strong advantage.
Skills:
- Proven ability to manage projects from inception to completion.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with budgeting and financial management.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple activities simultaneously.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and project management tools.
Soft skills:

- Detail-oriented, ensuring that all tasks are completed accurately and efficiently.

Languages:
- Proficiency in Romanian and English. Knowledge of Russian is a plus.
