Terre des hommes is hiring a Project Officer/Emergency Projects
The Project Officer is responsible for the effective support of our projects in Emergency response programme in terms of organization, communication, compliance with administrative and financial procedures and support to the beneficiaries. The Project Officer contributes to the quality implementation of the child protection interventions at country level, across all programmes and projects; offers technical assistance to Tdh national and local partners on child protection activities; advances the child protection activities as relevant and necessary, particularly on child and youth participation, empowerment and resilience; formal and non-formal child protection systems strengthening; provides capacity development of child protection actors and offers technical support for child protection related policy developments.
Start date: As soon as possible
Type of Contract: Employment Contract/full-time
Duration of Contract: 1 year (with possibility of extension)
Remuneration: according to the Tdh Salary scale, private medical insurance
Location: Chisinau, including regular movements across Moldova

Main responsibilities:
• Offers support to the Project Manager in the organization and implementation of activities according to the plan and related budgets.
• Under the guidance of the Project Manager, collects data from third parties with whom Tdh collaborates on the emergency component, in order to adapt the methodologies.
• Under the guidance of the Project Manager, contributes to the programme development on the projects and develops detailed monthly/weekly implementation plans.
• Gets involved in organizing and running events, trainings, etc., in accordance with the agreed calendar.
• Coordinates and supervises local teams, providing continuous organizational support to local staff and conducts regular field visits.
• Participates in the reporting stages, considering deliverables and project indicators.
• Is responsible for other tasks delegated by the Project Manager in accordance with the general purpose of the position.
• Develops and maintains effective working relationships with other actors, donors, and key stakeholders and raises visibility around Tdh.
• Contributes to and participates in the development of country situation analysis or needs assessments, strategic planning, project design, proposal review, in line with child protection policies and strategies.
Requirements for the position:
- University degree in social sciences, social work, humanitarian protection or any other relevant degree.
- Experience in projects implimentation.
- Minimum 1 year experience in working in an NGO will be considered an advantage.
- Experience of working with child protection, social inclusion, or community development projects and organizations is an asset.
- Experience in reporting on results and ensuring compliance with donor requirements.
- Ability to work well under pressure and manage sensitive and confidential information.
- Great interpersonal skills and ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to organize, prioritize, and follow through on multiple tasks.
- Experience and methodological knowledge on child participatory processes.
- Excellent oral and writing skills in Romanian language. Good oral and writing skills in English language, knowledge of Italian language will be considered an advantage.
