Organizational Setting

FAO in partnership with the Government of Moldova is implementing the project GCP/MOL/007/GCR “Mainstreaming adaptation into planning process to reduce vulnerability to climate change at local and central levels in Moldova’s Agriculture Sector (Ag. SAP)”.  The main objective is to support the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry (MAFI) to conduct comprehensive work to ensure climate change adaptation is mainstreamed into planning processes in the agriculture sector, ensuring a gender sensitive approach and the participation of all vulnerable groups.

Reporting Lines

The incumbent will work under overall supervision of the Assistant FAO Representative in Moldova, the project National Technical Advisor and in close cooperation with the project team.

Tasks and responsibilities

The Technical Assistant will be supporting the project in the implementation of the main activities, including the integration of climate change adaptation into sub-national development plans. In particular, the incumbent will perform the following tasks and responsibilities:

  •  support National Technical Advisor in coordination of the day-to-day implementation of activities;
  • facilitate organization of the Sector Work Group and Steering Committee meetings and supports follow-up activities;
  • ensure achieving the planned outputs and results within established deadlines and their overall quality;
  • facilitate the organisation of trainings, workshop, consultations, presentations and other events;
  • contribute to development of project staff monthly report, organisation and participation in the project staff meetings, drafting minutes;
  • contribute to elaboration of project interim-progress reports (IPR);
  • support revision of relevant documents and reports; keep up-to-date the deliverables database;
  • facilitate identification and selection of consultants and service provider(s) to be commissioned for the implementation of project activities;
  • perform any other duties deemed necessary for the successful implementation of the project.

CANDIDATES WILL BE ASSESSED AGAINST THE FOLLOWING

 

Minimum Requirements

  • University degree or equivalent in the field of Project Management, Public Administration, economics or another related field.
  • A minimum of 3 years of professional experience in project administration and management, or any other related administrative field
  • Previous experience with international projects/organizations is an advantage.
  • Fluency in oral and written English, Romanian and Russian
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in standard computer software.
