American Bar Association Rule of Law Initiative Moldova (ABA ROLI Moldova) is an international organization implementing technical assistance programs on justice sector reform, legal education and gender equality. ABA ROLI is working with public institutions and civil society organizations on promoting justice, economic opportunity and human dignity through the rule of law.

ABA ROLI Moldova is seeking to engage a staff attorney for a twelfth-month period. This is a full time position.

Start date: November 1, 2020

Qualifications required for this position include:

1. Fluent in English and Romanian;
2. Primary law degree from a fully accredited law school, Masters Degree and LLM degree may be considered in addition to the fundamental requirement of a primary law degree;
3. At least 3 years of experience working in gender, diversity, inclusion and gender based violence fields or similar areas;
4. Prior experience in managing technical assistance programs is required;
5. Strong verbal and written communication skills;
6. Strong organizational skills;
7. Team player and ability to tolerate stress;
8. Strong IT skills in MS Office, specifically MS Word and Excel.

Responsibilities:

1. Working with ABA ROLI team to develop and implement technical assistance programs;
2. Contribute to monthly, quarterly reports and work plans;
3. Collect and compile monitoring and evaluation data in accordance with project and donor requirements;
4. Prepare legal trainings, train-the-trainer workshops and informational/practice guides for representatives of the legal community;
5. Monitor Moldovan legal developments, including significant newsworthy items affecting gender, diversity, inclusion and gender based violence fields and human rights;
6. Represent ABA/ROLI at meetings with local partners or members of the international community;
7. Manage communication with program partners, civil society organizations and other stakeholders;
8. Prepare legal analyses and research.
