Communication and Project Management Intern (Agrotek Arena) - USAID Moldova Future Technologies Activity



The USAID Future Technologies Activity (FTA), implemented by Chemonics International, seeks a Communication and Project Management Intern.

The USAID Future Technologies Activity continues USAID, Sweden, and UK Aid’s legacy of sector competitiveness programming, building on lessons learned and adaptions, relationships, and local partner trust achieved by previous programs over the past 15 years. FTA uses a global market systems framework to continue to build capacity for sustainable, systemic progress while applying best practices to new partners and sectors. FTA co-creates systemic interventions with Moldovan partners to transform selected sectors by applying new technologies, promoting innovation, and integrating with global markets. FTA focuses on infusing digitalization, innovation and creativity, and sustainability across all sectors, with a particular focus on urban-based technology-enabled sectors including light manufacturing, information and communication technology (ICT), engineering, creative industries, and digital media.

The Communication and Project Management Intern will support the Executive Director of Agrotek Arena in advancing the project’s mission by focusing on communication activities and maintaining relationships with technology providers. This internship is an opportunity for a student to gain hands-on experience in the fields of agricultural technology, project management, and strategic communication within a dynamic and innovative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in developing and executing communication strategies together with FTA communication team to promote Agrotek Arena’s activities and achievements
  • Manage social media platforms, including content creation and scheduling posts, to engage with the agricultural and technological communities.
  • Prepare promotional materials such as brochures, newsletters, and press releases to enhance the visibility of Agrotek Arena’s initiatives.
  • Organize and participate in events, workshops, and conferences to represent Agrotek Arena, ensuring effective communication of the project’s goals and successes to a broad audience.
  • Collaborate on the creation of educational content that showcases the integration of digital technologies in agriculture, contributing to Agrotek Arena’s knowledge dissemination efforts.
  • Assist in organizing and promoting training sessions, workshops, and seminars aimed at educating students, farmers, and stakeholders on the use of advanced agricultural technologies.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of Agrotek Arena’s website and online presence, ensuring up-to-date and relevant content that reflects the project’s ongoing activities.
  • Assist the Executive Director in maintaining regular communication with technology providers and vendors involved in Agrotek Arena.
  • Coordinate meetings, follow-ups, and correspondence with technology partners to ensure smooth collaboration and alignment with Agrotek Arena’s objectives.
  • Support the evaluation and assessment process of technology providers, helping to gather and organize data on their products, services, and capabilities.
  • Contribute to the development of reports and presentations that summarize interactions and outcomes with technology providers, highlighting key insights and recommendations for future collaboration.

Qualifications:

  • Recent graduate, or current student pursuing a degree in Communication, Public Relations, Marketing, Agricultural Sciences, or a related field.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create compelling content for diverse audiences.
  • Interest in agricultural technology and innovation, with a willingness to learn about emerging trends and technologies.
  • Organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms, digital communication tools, and content management systems is a plus.

Location and Duration of Assignment:

The location of the assignment is in Chisinau, with local travel within Moldova as needed. The period of performance will be from on/about October 21, 2024 – on/about May 31, 2025, with flexibility in consideration of the successful applicant.
