Anunț de participare la program de instruire cu Natalia Beregoi

America House invites you to attend the professional development program “The fight against disinformation in mass-media and online”, moderated by Natalia Beregoi.

Critical thinking and understanding disinformation intent are crucial responsibilities of citizenship in the twenty-first century. There is a lot of concern that people cannot tell the difference between news and fake content, that we live in a post-truth era, in an environment where lies always travel faster and farther than news reporting. By entering into a discussion about contemporary disinformation, the participants will be invited to think about the power of communication and their responsibilities as both creators and consumers of media content. Discussion of new forms and techniques of disinformation enables us to examine questions about the use and potential impact of new media and technologies.

Participants will :

- learn what disinformation and fake content online are
- learn to identify fake news
- understand the economic and political motivations behind spreading fake content
- discuss the context and conditions in which fake news becomes viral
- reflect upon the effects of distributing fake news online
- learn how to spot fake news and to report disinformation online

The aim of this program is to provide candidates with the underpinning knowledge related to disinformation. By the end of the program, candidates are expected to have gained sufficient skills and knowledge and be able to apply them.
