Project HOPE Moldova is looking for a Program Officer for Safe Spaces (full time, Chisinau)



Project HOPE, the People-to-People Health Foundation, Inc., is a global health and humanitarian non-profit organization with 65 years of experience in 100+ countries, empowering local health workers and addressing urgent health needs through 500+ programs, is a global health and humanitarian non-profit organization dedicated to providing long-lasting solutions to global health problems, placing power in the hands of local health workers, and improving the quality of life for the world’smost vulnerable people. Project HOPE aims to improve access to quality care for vulnerable groups in the Republic of Moldova by strengthening the health system for vulnerable people including foreign people and strengthening the network of health services in under-resourced and underserved communities.

 

Overall purpose of the role:

The Program Officer for Safe Spaces will be responsible for coordinating and supervising the partner organization who is responsible for the implementation of the 5 spaces supported by Project HOPE. Program Officer will work closely with executive boards, community partners, and other stakeholders to ensure program success.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Supporting Program Coordinator in the implementation of the project activities.
  • Monitoring the operations and activities of the 5 safe spaces, to ensure a welcoming and secure environment for the beneficiaries.
  • Drafting the monthly and ad-hoc reports on program activities.
  • Reviewing the monthly /quarterly reports received from the partners.
  • Proper record keeping and management of project-related documentation.
  • Monitor spending and ensure adherence to project budgets for safe spaces.
  • Organizing the meetings with partners.
  • Ensuring effective communication with project partners.
  • Contribute to the writing, editing, and reviewing grant proposals.
  • Work closely with communication officer to report on project success.
  • Other administrative tasks specific to the project, according to the requests of the Program Coordinator.

 

Experience and technical competencies:

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in management, communications, or sociology are relevant.

Essential:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in program management.
  • Excellent computer skills. MS Office: Teams, Word & Excel.
  • Experience in working with (I)NGOs will be a plus.
  • Ability to design, plan, and implement effective programs aligned with the organization’s mission.
  • Skill in monitoring program progress, evaluating outcomes, and adjusting strategies as needed.
  • Knowledge of fundraising strategies and donor engagement.
  • Understanding of budgeting principles and financial management.
  • Skill in tracking program expenses and ensuring budget compliance.
  • Proficiency in collecting and analyzing program data.
  • Skill in preparing clear and concise reports for internal and external audiences.
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate with community partners, donors, and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships.
  • Ability to navigate challenges, adapt to changing circumstances, and find creative solutions.
  • Strong ethical compass to make decisions aligned with organizational values.

 

Languages:

Fluency in written and spoken English. Fluency in local spoken languages.
