Acted helps ensuring they can receive the basic support they need, including water, food and hot meals, blankets, hygiene supplies and access to mobile heating points.

Acted is looking for a Driver (support staff), which under the supervision of the Transport (logistics) Officer and Country Logistics Manager is responsible for providing safe transport services for program and support Acted team. 

 

Education: Higher
Schedule: Full-time
Salary: 12 900 lei
Experience: from 2 years

 

Main objectives:

  • Transporting goods and people in complete safety, in compliance with Acted procedures;
  • Maintaining and supplying the vehicle with fuel/lubricant on a daily and weekly basis;
  • Keeping track of vehicle documents.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Drive your vehicle in compliance with the Highway Code, as well as Acted procedures:

  • The driver will adapt his speed according to road conditions and driving rules in Moldova.
  • The driver is responsible for the safety of any goods or persons on board his vehicle.
  • They will be held responsible in the event of an accident if they do not follow procedures. He is also responsible for his speed, whatever instructions contrary to procedures may be given by passengers, including expatriates.
  • Follow the travel schedule sent and posted by the Transport Logistics officer. Please note: a driver must not just drive but must also support the work of Transport Logistics on the base and use common sense to take the necessary initiatives for short trips requested on the base (any trip for personal reasons without authorization from Logistics on the base will be subject to penalties for both the driver and the passenger).
  • He/she will have to follow the instructions given by the transport officer.
  • Keeping to a schedule is also an important objective that is regularly assessed by the supervisor.
  • To ensure that the vehicle is correctly handed over to the next driver before the driver leaves on holiday or when there is a change of vehicle, indicating the schedule for the next few hours, any problems identified and any precautions to be taken, and handing over all the necessary documents.

The driver must be available to go outside Moldova if needed. He needs to have a valid passport.

Carry out daily checks on your vehicle: Carry out/check that vehicle loads are correct (packaging, fastenings, stowage, quantity, delivery note, etc.)

  • The driver is responsible for his load and will be held liable in the event of loss/damage to goods during transport.
  • Helping to ensure that the vehicle is loaded correctly. The driver will sign dispatch notes and other packing lists for the equipment loaded. He will be responsible for the equipment until it is unloaded.

Inform: 

  • Mechanical problems to the transport officer
  • Accidents to the transport officer
  • Safety problems to the transport officer

The driver is responsible for renewing his/her driving/riding license and for sending a copy of the new documents to the transport officer.

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS:

  • Difference between actual consumption and standard consumption (TRA-03-06)
  • Time to launch with all the necessary equipment and documents
  • Number of returns on logbook keeping
  • Number of vehicles did not fuel the day before departure
  • Number of days to send logbooks.

TECHNICAL SKILLS:

  • Mechanical skills; Rigorous, serious, honest;
  • Organizational skills; Sense of initiative;
  • Flexibility; Team spirit;
  • State diploma in mechanics;
  • Two years' professional experience as a Driver (preferably in an international NGO)
  • Knowledge of navigability zones and good geographical knowledge of the country;
  • Good command of English;
  • Honesty and integrity.

 

The selection procedure consists of the following steps:

  • Collection of submitted CVs during the period until the deadline specified in the announcement (all CVs sent in accordance with the requirements are considered).
  • CV-analyzing the resumes based on the vacancy requirements.
  • Formation of a list of potential candidates, based on the score after CV-analysis.
  • Pre-interview by phone (just to clarify some details).
  • Invitation of candidates with a sufficiently high score after CV-analysis to the practical test driver.
  • Notification of the test results (within 1 week) and if the practical test driver is passed successfully invitation for an interview.
  • After the interview, sending a decision on the candidate (positive or negative), takes  within 1 week.
