The chief accountant is responsible for the application of accounting and tax procedures and compliance with deadlines for closing accounts. 

Job duties and responsibilities:

• Checks and analyzes financial information and prepares financial reports and accounting statements so that the General manager in Moldova and the Finance Director have accurate and timely information for making financial decisions.
• Manage the accounting department
• Holds full charge bookkeeping including all month and year-end journal entries. 
• Is responsible for importing all data connected to the payment of staff salaries and wages. 
• Ensures an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year-end close 
• Prepares the statutory annual accounts
• Maintains all customers' and suppliers' accounts of time, billings and payments.
• Prepares all monthly client invoicing and vendor payments for the General Manager's approval and mailing
• Identifies, communicates and implements process improvements to enhance accounting and reporting controls and provides efficiencies
• Develops and maintains process and control documentation for the auditors and internal compliance
• Initiates and organizes inventory counts of company assets either on an annual basis or a selective specific range
• Informs timely General Manager and the Finance Director about any abusive activity of any department or deviation from the consumption rates and rules stabilized at the enterprise.
• Supports the annual audit process
• Supports budget and forecasting activities 
• Classify financial data to derive usable information and maintain records.
• Monitor the progress of financial and accounting objectives
• Respond to inquiries from the General Manager, the Director of Finance, the Controller, and other finance and firm-wide managers regarding financial results, special reporting requests and the like
• Travel for work/on business when dispatched by the direct superior or by decision of the Company's management, unless otherwise provided by labor law

Requirements:  

• Experience from 3 years as Chief Accountant
• Professional /academic qualification in finance or accounting
• Excellent communication skills (writing, speaking, listening) in Romanian and English
• Ability to work toward tight deadlines and handle multiple tasks
• Advanced computer skills - software: Universal Accounting, BFC System, Group tools
