The Public Association “Law Centre of Advocates” is looking for qualified persons for Legal Counselor position to support the “Legal assistance to refugees, asylum-seekers and stateless persons in Moldova” projects.

Job title: Legal Counselor to support the “Legal assistance to refugees, asylum-seekers and stateless persons” projects.

Key areas of accountability
- Assist all persons of concern ensuring timely high-quality protection information, counseling, assistance, and representation at administrative stages of asylum/statelessness procedure.
- Regularly visits for legal counseling sessions at Temporary Accommodation Centre for asylum-seekers (TAC);
- Regularly visits for legal counseling sessions at Migrant Accommodation Centre (MAC);
- Conduct individual/family visits, interviews, and counseling in order to assess in practice the situation of asylum-seekers, refugees, beneficiaries of humanitarian protection and stateless persons.
- Refer persons of concern to relevant state authorities for any type of available assistance and monitor the access to the national social, legal, educational and medical assistance.
- Provide expertise to relevant state stakeholders

Qualifications and skills required:
Academic Qualifications:
• University degree, preferably in international law or human rights law.
• Lawyer license would be considered an advantage
Experience and knowledge:
• Previous work experience in the area would be considered as advantage
• Good organizational and time-management abilities.
• Proficiency in Excel, Word, Power Point, use of databases
Competencies:
• Good analytical skills and good oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively under stress and in crisis situations.
• Cultural and gender awareness.
• Fluency in Romanian, Russian and English languages.
• Driver license.
