Head of Finance, EMEA Region at Safeguard Global

Role Overview:
Manage financial reporting and compliance for the European entities. Ensure proactive management of compliance and stakeholders (internal plus external) to help build a world class finance team.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Leadership and development of the European finance team and provide a senior presence within the local office
- Assist with building the future structure for the finance department globally
- Production of high quality monthly financial reports with full review of P&L and Balance Sheet positions at a consolidated subsidiary level
- Responsible for statutory accounts for 20+ European entities (excluding the UK parent) and ensuring good working relationships with external auditors and taxation advisors
- Provide cash management assistance to the group treasury function
- Ownership of tax compliance across the European entities with assistance from both external and internal accountants
- Identify and execute improvements in systems and internal controls
- Develop staff by managing performance, setting goals, providing ongoing training, and maintaining strong employee relationships
- Act in accordance with Safeguard Global values and ethics
Skills and Experience
- Accounting qualification would be essential
- 7+ years of experience in accounting role
- 3+ years in the similar role
- Experience or exposure of working with multinational business is desired
- Experience with financial accounting and balance sheet reconciliations
- Designed and implemented process improvement initiatives
- Data analysis skills
- Excellent communication skills, including English Language
- Advanced Excel skills
