BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE OF THE ASSIGNMENT:

The World Food Programme (WFP) is the world's largest humanitarian agency, working towards achieving a world with zero hunger. Since the beginning of the Ukraine refugee crisis in February 2022, WFP set up operations in Moldova to assist in the refugee response. To respond to the deepening vulnerabilities of the crisis-affected populations and to strengthen the government shock-responsive capacity, WFP has drafted a Transitional Interim Country Strategic Plan (T-ICSP), which outlines the activities in the country for the next year (September 2022 – August 2023). To support the implementation of the T-ICSP, WFP Moldova is seeking candidates for the role of data analyst, to systematically track the needs and gaps in programme coverage and produce a visualization tool for partners to easily access information and enabling data-driven decision making for WFP’s activities. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (not all-inclusive, nor exhaustive):

  1. Coordination with partners for data sharing and timely submission of data.
  2. Clean and consolidate data from different sources and ensure consistency across databases
  3. Conduct analysis of data on multiple platforms, mainly excel, and visualize data on Tableau and other softwares
  4. Follow-up issues received from community feedback mechanism (CFM) channels.
  5. Follow up on data issues and pending programmatic steps such as registration and cash-out with Cooperating Partners for timely implementation.
  6. Transfer data from paper formats into computer files and/or database systems.
  7. Type in data provided directly from Cooperating Partners via emails or text.
  8. Ensure data is protected, and adhere to data protection protocols throughout the process
  9. Perform other duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Education:

Completion of Secondary School certification. Post-secondary certificate in International Development, Business Administration, Social Sciences, Information Management and Research, Computer Sciences or other related fields is desirable.

Experience:

Experience of using Microsoft Excel, Tableau or a similar system, ideally in the context on a UN agency or international organization, is desirable.  

Languages:

Fluent in English, Romanian and Russian. Knowledge of a second UN language is desirable.

Knowledge & Skills:

    • Experience in reporting and communication activities required, strong understanding of OIM concepts and principles, best practices, techniques and processes.
    • Strong data collection, analysis, and visualization skills.
