Meet U.S. | Connections through Community Theater
Meet U.S. | Connections through Community Theater
A Tony Award-winning show can garner national attention, but what difference can a home-grown theatrical production make? Local theater productions offer a range of opportunities to people of all ages, like building confidence in public speaking or even just getting to know the people in your community better through a shared goal working on a long-term project. In this presentation, we’ll discuss some of the ways people in the U.S. get involved with theater and the benefits this can have for participants as individuals, and for communities as a whole.
About the speaker: Katherin Webb - Peace Corps Volunteer in Moldova, originally from Falls Church, Virginia. Before beginning her service, Kathryn was very involved in theater throughout her life, from acting, to making costumes, even writing and directing. Here in Moldova, Kathryn strives to provide similar opportunities for creativity to the youth she works with.
