On November 7-8, 2025, Myth Detector and DW Akademie, in partnership with Reporters Without Borders (RSF), Media Development Foundation (MDF), and Stop Fals (Moldova) present the Eastern Partnership Fact-Checkers Annual Conference "Unveil the Truth" in Chișinău, Moldova.

This international gathering will bring together fact-checkers, researchers, think tanks, policy experts, and key stakeholders from 13 countries to address one of the greatest challenges facing democracy today: Foreign Information Manipulation and Interference (FIMI) and the rise of Informational Autocracy.

The conference will open with a keynote by Nina Jankowicz, a globally recognized expert on disinformation and democratization, who will discuss safeguarding liberal democracy against disinformation threats.

High-level representatives from organizations such as the European External Action Service (EEAS), the NATO Strategic Communications Centre of Excellence, the European Fact-Checking Standards Network (EFCSN), and the European Digital Media Observatory (EDMO) will share strategic insights and advocate for policy change.

Across two days, participants will explore:

• The implementation of the EU’s Digital Services Act (DSA) and its impact on tech platform accountability.
• The importance of media literacy and resilience-building initiatives in protecting information integrity.
• The growing risks faced by journalists, fact-checkers, and researchers, and collective strategies to safeguard their work.
• The impact of gender and identity-based disinformation on public discourse and civic participation, and the strategies to counter these tactics.
• Interactive workshops on AI-powered methodologies, social media monitoring, open-source intelligence, digital investigation, and fact-checking tools.

Building on two successful editions in Tbilisi, this year marks the first time “Unveil the Truth” will be hosted outside Georgia, underscoring Moldova’s pivotal role in the Eastern Partnership and its commitment to tackling disinformation amid its European integration efforts. The event is sponsored by the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs, represented by the French Embassy in Estonia, and the Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (Germany).
