Senior Political and Economic Expert - Embassy of Belgium in Chișinău

Location: Belgian Embassy in Chișinău (73/1 Ștefan cel Mare și Sfânt Blvd).
Employment type: Full-time, 40 hours per week, temporary contract until the end of 2028

In the context of the Republic of Moldova’s current EU accession process, the Embassy of Belgium in Chișinău is recruiting a passionate, proactive and insightful full-time Senior Political and Economic Expert (temporary contract until the end of 2028), who will help the post deepen its analytical understanding of the Republic of Moldova, broaden its network, and increase its visibility.
In this capacity, among other duties, you will be responsible for analysing Moldova’s ongoing reforms and their effects in the context of the country’s EU accession process, monitoring its socio-economic developments, organising events (business fora, meetings, visits, etc.), contributing to the Embassy’s communication efforts, and providing translation and interpretation.

- The application file consists of:
1) a short motivation letter in Word format, written in French, Dutch or English;
2) a CV, written in French, Dutch or English;
3) a copy of your diploma;
4) at least two letters of recommendation, as well as the names and contact details of former employers who may be contacted for references.
Selected candidates will be invited for an interview, a written test, and a security background questionnaire, all of which are expected to take place in October 2026. Only eligible candidates will be contacted.
In addition to the documents provided in the application file, shortlisted candidates will be required to submit the two certificates listed below:
- Detailed criminal record certificate (Cazier detaliat), issued in Romanian, which can be requested via this link;
- Detailed certificate of administrative offenses (Cazier contravențional detaliat), issued in Romanian, which can be requested via this link.
