Position Overview

The organization operates in a sector that involves the processing and storage of a substantial volume of sensitive and confidential data belonging to a large number of individuals.

The IT Specialist role is mission-critical for ensuring operational continuity, information security, regulatory compliance, and the optimization of IT processes, in close collaboration with internal teams.

Purpose of the Role

Ensure the stable, secure, and efficient operation of the IT infrastructure by:

• Protecting sensitive data
• Preventing and mitigating security incidents
• Optimizing digital workflows and IT processes
• Providing proactive support to internal teams for the secure and efficient use of technology

Key Responsibilities

IT Infrastructure & Networking

• Administer and configure network infrastructure (LAN/WAN, VLANs, IP addressing, Wi-Fi)
• Manage network equipment: racks, switches, routers, access points
• Monitor network performance, availability, and capacity
• Implement network segmentation and enforce the principle of least privilege

IT Security & Data Protection

• Implement and maintain security controls for sensitive and confidential data
• Analyze and correlate security logs (network, systems, applications)
• Detect, prevent, and respond to security incidents
• Administer authentication mechanisms (MFA/2FA, access control policies)
• Protect against phishing, malware, and cyber threats
• Secure email communications and collaboration infrastructure

Compliance & Best Practices

• Apply core data protection principles (confidentiality, integrity, availability)
• Understand and apply general requirements for handling sensitive data (e.g., GDPR-aligned principles, data minimization, access control, auditability)
• Document IT policies and security procedures
• Participate in internal IT audits and risk assessments

Microsoft Services & Enterprise Systems

• Administer Microsoft 365 services (Exchange Online, SharePoint, OneDrive)
• Manage identity and access through Microsoft Entra ID
• Administer endpoint security using Microsoft Defender
• Manage compliant devices and security policies
• Support software licensing management and license optimization

Systems Administration & User Support

• Configure and maintain Windows workstations
• Administer printers, scanners, and peripheral devices
• Provide technical support for users, including hardware and software incident resolution
• Ensure IT service continuity during incidents

IT Asset Management

• Maintain comprehensive IT asset inventory (inventory management)
• Oversee asset allocation, retrieval, and traceability
• Keep documentation accurate and up to date

Digitalization & Optimization

• Collaborate with internal teams to streamline IT processes
• Propose automation and optimization solutions
• Support implementation and maintenance of websites and hosting services
• Basic scripting/programming knowledge is considered an advantage

Administrative & Procurement Processes

• Understand IT procurement processes and tender documentation
• Provide technical expertise during IT solution selection and evaluation

Mandatory Requirements

• Proven experience in IT administration, infrastructure, or information security
• Strong knowledge of networking and IT security principles
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft enterprise services
• Strong analytical and incident resolution capabilities
• Experience handling sensitive and confidential data
• Good documentation and organizational skills

Considered an Advantage

• Programming or scripting knowledge
• Hosting and server administration experience
• Experience in organizations handling sensitive data
• Relevant IT certifications (Microsoft, networking, security)
