Project Assistant will work on the mission's projects in Moldova as part of the field team. She or he will assist in the implementation of food security and livelihood/wash/health and nutrition activities outlined in the projects' operational plans, as well as maintain the archiving process, which he or she will coordinate directly with the Action Against Hunger Moldova Mission's Programme Coordinator.

Key activities in your role will include

Objective 1: Assist Programme Coordinator with the implementation and monitoring of the AAH Moldova programs through a variety of modalities.

  • Assisting with alignment with broader program policies and guidelines.
  • Following up on project activities in the field and with the operation partner.
  • Participating in and actively contributing to any program assessments that occur in the area.
  • Monitoring and tracking project activities, as well as contacting beneficiaries to ensure they receive assistance.
  • Following the data collection inputs with the MEAL team and relevant partners and contractors.
  • Report on any difficulties met in the implementation of the activities as well as all the action that should be undertaken to improve the approach and the activities of the project.
  • Control the quality of service and activities in the field and provide regular reports to Programme Coordinator.
  • Participate in regular field visits to AAH’s project locations in Otaci, Stefan Voda, Causeni, Balti and other regions when required.
  • Undertake any other duties as reasonably required.

Objective 2: To ensure the effective monitoring of the project at the community level and its timely reporting and archiving of documents

  • Ensure the proper disposition of the inputs, supporting documents collected, and distribution reports submitted at the end of every distribution.
  • Support programme teams (FSL, WASH, HN) in preparing technical and narrative progress reports including the regular technical monitoring reports.
  • Consolidate, analyse and transmit all the project documents.
  • Support programme and MEAL team in any kind of surveys, assessments, monitoring required.
  • Adhere to the Mission Reporting System and ensure all deadlines for reports requested are met.
  • Maintain quality and integrity of all reports.
  • Comply with the necessary branding and communications guidelines of the organization.
  • Ensure proper filing of project documents including the signature lists, distribution forms, beneficiary lists, third party agreements and so on.
  • Carry out any other relevant task to the position as requested by the line manager.
Do you meet the profile required criteria?
  • Professional in Economics, Social Sciences or related fields. Desirable, studies in community development in social needs, humanitarian aid or similar.
  • Knowledge and experience in community outreach, food and non-food items distribution and hygiene promotion.
  • Knowledge of Humanitarian Accountability Partnership is an advantage.
  • At least 1 year of professional experience working with I/NGOs, donor-funded programs in humanitarian operation
  • Experience in supporting field assessments, monitoring, surveys.
  • Previous experience working with and alongside governmental structures and local/international partners.
  • Excellent English and Romanian language, Russian and/or Ukrainian is an advantage.
  • Required expertise in Windows Office package (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).

  • Base: Chisinau (Moldova)
  • Salary: according to Action Against Hunger salary scale and to candidate’s previous experience.
