1. WORKING CONDITIONS AND REMUNERATION

Location: Moldova, 50% time in Chisinau, 50% time in the North

Contract: Determined Contract of 6 months, with a 1 month trial period Possibility of extension upon positive performance.

2. JOB DESCRIPTION

WeWorld Moldova is hiring an experienced EDUCATION COORDINATOR (M/W). The EDUCATION COORDINATOR will be responsible for planning, implementation, supervision and monitoring, reporting, technical support, coordination and networking.

3. MAIN RESPONSABILITES

1. Planning

  • Develop detailed education project activities and workplans in line with Education in Emergency Principles.
  • Identify key stakeholders and establish sound partnerships for project implementation.
  • Ensure alignment of project activities with the overall objectives of WeWorld's programs. · Contribute to needs assessments and participate in the development of education strategies.
  • In coordination with Gender and Protection Project Manager, ensure incorporation of Child Protection principles and Age, Gender and Disability sensitivity into project planning processes.

2. Implementation

  • Oversee the timely and efficient implementation of education projects.
  • Coordinate with project teams to ensure activities are executed according to plans.
  • Provide technical guidance to field staff and projects’ team on education methodologies.
  • Monitor project progress and address challenges promptly to ensure quality delivery.
  • Coordinate with the Project Manager and the MEAL officer to ensure integration of Feedback and Complaint Response Mechanism in the education activities implemented.

3. Supervision and Monitoring

  • Conduct regular field visits to project sites to monitor implementation and assess impact.
  • Supervise and manage field staff (Community Spaces Coordinators and Educators) and provide guidance on education-related activities.
  • Supervise the purchase and delivery of materials and supplies for the educational activities.
  • Establish monitoring and evaluation frameworks to track project outcomes and outputs in coordination with the Project Manager and the MEAL officer.
  • In coordination with the MEAL officer, collect and analyse data to measure the effectiveness of education interventions.
  • Ensure compliance with Child safeguarding and PSEAH principles during monitoring activities.
  • Coordinate with the Project Manager and the MEAL officer to ensure smooth functioning of Feedback and Complaint Response Mechanism.

4. Reporting

  • Prepare regular progress reports detailing education activities, achievements, and challenges.
  • Document any deviations from the projects’ plan and propose corrective actions.
  • Provide timely updates to project team and stakeholders.
  • Compile lessons learned and best practices for future project planning.

5. Technical Support

  • Provide technical expertise on education and Education in Emergency response to project teams.
  • Support the development of educational and recreational materials and resources.
  • Offer guidance on adapting education programs to meet the needs of refugees and vulnerable communities.
  • Stay updated on best practices and innovations in the field of education in emergencies.
  • Provide capacity building support to Projects’ team, local partners and stakeholders in coordination with the Gender and Protection Team.

6. Coordination and Networking

  • Liaise with government agencies, NGOs, and other stakeholders involved in education.
  • Participate in coordination meetings and working groups related to education.
  • Foster collaboration and knowledge sharing among partners to enhance project outcomes.
  • Represent WeWorld in relevant forums and conferences related to education and the Ukraine Refugee Response.
  • Advocate for the advancement of Child Protection integration in programming and practice.

7. Other Duties

  • Effectively and communicate and coordinate with Project Team.
  • Actively promote the respect of Non-discrimination and Do No Harm principles for the creation of an inclusive work environment and programming.
  • Collaborate with the Safeguarding Focal Point to manage any instances of abuse, discrimination, or violence involving children or adults, ensuring that thorough, timely, and confidential reports and referrals are submitted to the Guardianship Authority or relevant authorities.
  • Recognise the power imbalance that comes with being a professional working with individuals that are marginalized or in need of support and ensure that no abuse is committed for personal gain.
  • Perform any other duty requested by the line manager.

4. REQUIRED PROFILE FOR THE POSITION

1. Qualifications and Professional Experience

  • Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in Education, Social Sciences, International Development or related field.
  • At least 3 years of experience implementing education programs. Experience in Education in Emergency settings will be evaluated positively.
  • Strong understanding of Education in Emergency and Child Protection principles.
  • Proven experience in Project planning, monitoring and evaluation.
  • Fluency in Romanian, and Russian or Ukrainian. Intermediate in English.
  • IT capacity, knowledge of Microsoft Office tools.
