The position of Project Manager is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the nutrition and health programs, as well as liaising with various external partners.

Key activities in your role will include
  • Follow up the performance of the project under her/his responsibility, meeting with all the requirements of each part of the life cycle of the project.
  • Ensure that the commitments to donors, including reporting, implementation deadlines, monitoring, and other requests, including following standard guidelines for donations are respected in the implementation of the activities.
  • Ensure that all the administrative and logistic processes related to the projects are performed on time allowing the proper implementation of the project.
  • Ensure the quality and timely implementation of the planned activities.
  • Perform a follow up of the budget allocated to the projects under her/his responsibilities.
  • Follow and support field activities through visits, phone calls and emails.
  • Capitalize the experiences and develop good practices and success stories.
  • Train, manage and conduct regular performance evaluation of the personnel under her/his responsibility.
  • Provide technical assistance and orientation to the technical and operations staff from partners, including leading training initiatives and developing technical resources related to the topics of the projects implemented.
  • When necessary, participate in the recruitment of staff, including the review of job descriptions and technical tests, as well as the performance of interviews.
  • Ensure cross-cutting issues (gender, MHPSS, social protection) are mainstreamed in the project in coordination and consultation with other technical departments.
  • Promote inter-sectoral coordination with WASH and FSL programming and strategies for the implementation of the project under her/his responsibility.
  • Any other task required to achieve the project objective or fall within the mandate of Action Against Hunger. •Participate in coordination meetings with external stakeholders and sector working groups.
  • Represent Action Against Hunger for internal and external coordination at capital level for issues related to her/his areas of intervention.
  • Liaise with the respective technical staff in HQ.
Do you meet the profile required criteria?

Essential: 

  • A first level university degree in project management, public health, health science, management, project evaluation and design, or another field relevant to the position.
  • At least 3 years of experience in humanitarian settings.
  • Fluent in English, Romanian and Russian, both written and verbal.
  • Based in Chisinau with frequent travels to different districts within Moldova.
  • Experience in Health, Primary health care, Care practices, Mental Health or Psychosocial Support projects related in humanitarian contexts. 

Desirable:

  • Advanced university degree (Masters level or above) in project management, public health (MPH, DrPH), health science, management, or business administration (MBA).
  • Project Management Certification (Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Project Manager (CPM), Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), PRINCE2, Professional in Project Management (PPM), or similar).
  • Experience with Infant and Young Child Feeding in Emergencies and nurturing care.

  • Base: Chisinau (Moldova)
  • Salary: according to Action Against Hunger salary scale and to candidate’s previous experience.
