The Embassy of the Czech Republic in Chisinau is offering a position of the Coordinator of Economic and Development Cooperation (local staff)

1. Background:

The Embassy of the Czech Republic in Chisinau continuously works on the improvement of economic and development cooperation between the Czech Republic and the Republic of Moldova. The Embassy supports the Czech companies that are active in Moldova and facilitates their access to the Moldovan market. The Embassy also facilitates Official Development Cooperation of the Czech Republic to the Republic of Moldova.

2. Objectives:

The Embassy is looking for a suitable candidate for the position of Coordinator of Economic and Development Cooperation in the Republic of Moldova. This Coordinator will assist the Embassy the strengthening the process of economic and development cooperation. Services will be provided to improve access and operation of the Czech companies in the Moldovan market and also to ensure administration and monitoring of the development cooperation project.

Expected focus of the work: Economic and development cooperation

Specifically, he/she will:

  • Provide support to Czech companies active in Moldova
  • Assistance in the implementation of economic diplomacy projects
  • Assistance in the implementation of development, humanitarian, and transition projects (call for proposals, monitoring, evaluation, administration, etc.)
  • Provide support in gathering and analyzing information (statistics and data gathering, legal and regulatory framework, analysis, etc.)
  • Focus on gathering and distributing information in the following fields: energy, agriculture, automotive industry, water and sanitation, health, and environment.

3. Performance indicators for evaluation of results:

The performance of work will be evaluated based on the following indicators:

  • Completion of tasks specified in the order;
  • Compliance with the established deadlines for submission of deliverables;
  • Professional quality of the deliverables.

4. Qualifications and experience:

  • At least 2 years of proven experience in the Economic/Development sector
  • Education in a relevant field
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to set priorities and meet deadlines
  • Familiarity with relevant national policies, standards, and regulatory frameworks related to the economic and development sector
  • Communication, presentation and analytic skills
  • Command of the English language, both oral and written, mandatory
  • Knowledge of Romanian language, both oral and written, mandatory
  • Knowledge of the Czech language is advantage
  • Previous similar work experience with international organizations and/or government programmes in relevant areas will be an asset

6. Evaluation criteria for selection:

Evaluation will be performed through a desk review of applications and will be supplemented by an interview. The selection will be based on the principle of best value for money among the technically qualified candidates.
