Open to individual consultants and experts from Moldova

CONTEXT

Internews in Moldova is looking for a market research consultant/expert with a good understanding of the Moldovan digital news environment. The consultant will analyze and frame the online news environment from an ad support perspective. The findings will be included in a research report*. The expert will work closely with the Internews in Moldova team, under the guidance of Internews’ Ads for News (AFN) program.

Note: The methodology will be consulted and approved by Internews in Moldova. The market research should be ready by February 29, 2024.

DUTIES

• Research digital advertising market, trends, and forecasted developments;
• Conduct industry stakeholder interviews;
• Review secondary data and literature;
• Write the final research report in English (10-15 pages, plus appendices).

QUALIFICATIONS

• Professional understanding of the business environment for digital news media in Moldova;
• Experience working as a professional journalist, media industry professional, or media academic;
• Strong command of the English language;
• Market research and analysis experience;
• Analytical mindset with the ability to work systematically;
• Well-developed writing skills (research report examples a plus).

This activity is part of the USAID and UK-funded project “Media Enabling Democracy, Inclusion and Accountability in Moldova” (MEDIA-M) and implemented by Internews in Moldova, which aims to promote the development of an independent, professional media, and to create a media sector that is more resilient to political and financial pressures.
