UNHCR is looking for a Senior Registration Assistant to be based in Chisinau, Moldova.
To carry out the functions of the position, the ideal candidate will:
• Be able to provide a high level of technical guidance and oversight to partner staff on the utilization of UNHCR’s corporate tools such as proGres, RApp, and BIMS in the process of cash enrollment and continuous registration activities.
• Be able to independently coordinate and liaise with government counterparts, specifically IGM, on activities and actions related to Temporary Protection
• Be able to provide information and briefings to various audiences on Temporary Protection
• Have a strong knowledge of UNHCR registration policies and procedures, including a high level of technical skills and capacity in utilizing UNHCR’s corporate tools
Working knowledge of English and Romanian is mandatory, Russian and Romany are considered as an asset.
Minimum Qualifications

G5 - 2 years relevant experience with High School Diploma; or 1 year relevant work experience with Bachelor or equivalent or higher

Good computer skills, particularly in data management.
Desirable
Training in basic principles of international protection. Experience in working with UNHCR proGres software.

Duties
- Assist in the implementation of registration strategies and methodologies for POC.
- Conduct registration interviews when required in accordance with registration standards and guidance.
- Provide counselling to, and responds to queries from, asylum seekers and refugees regarding UNHCR's registration procedures and their rights and entitlements.
- Maintain accurate and up-to date records and data related to all individual registration cases.
- Identify persons with specific needs and ensure timely referral to protection follow-up as required.
- Collaborate with protection staff and/or partners in the delivery of assistance and programming, including provision of identity and entitlement documentation.
- Draft correspondence and reports relating to registration activities in the Operation, when required
- Provide statistics and draft reports related to registration data, as requested.
- Act as interpreter and translator when needed.
- Refer cases to other units within the office and to implementing partners as necessary.
- Draft and submit reports and statistics related to registration.
- Perform other related duties as required.

Remuneration
A competitive compensation and benefits package is offered. The annual net salary is between MDL 196,193 and MDL 228,893 depending on relevant experience, excluding dependency allowances (if applicable).

Benefits
Annual leave: UNHCR staff members holding a fixed-term appointment will accrue annual leave at the rate of 2.5 working days for each full calendar months of service (i.e. 30 working days per year).
Pension system (mandatory): Staff members holding a fixed-term appointment will become participants in the United Nations Joint Staff Pension Fund (UNJSPF).
Health insurance plan: locally recruited staff members in Chisinau will be enrolled in the Medical Insurance Plan (MIP). The coverage is also optionally available for eligible family members.
