You'll contribute to ending world hunger by ...

• To guarantee adequate technical project implementation for the Nutrition and Health activities under your responsibility. 
• To liaise with involved stakeholders (such as beneficiaries, partner organizations, municipalities, and authorities) to ensure good communication and collaboration. 
• To facilitate indicator and target follow up, proper reporting, and correct archiving of project documentation. 
• To support the Program Manager in a day-to-day task.

Key activities in your role will include

• Facilitate and support the Nutrition and Health Program Manager and the Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) team, while working with the program cycle management tools, such as the appropriate monitoring tools, project indicators and means of verification, activity progress reports, budget follow up tools, and project procurement plans. 
• Ensure appropriate and consistent education and messaging to mothers and other caregivers during the project implementation. 
• Ensure appropriate and consistent education and messaging to mothers and other caregivers. 
• In coordination with the Nutrition and Health Program Manager, ensure that a workplan for each project is in place, and make sure that the program activities are implemented accordingly. 
• Ensure that monitoring and evaluation plans for the projects are effective and functioning to measure the direct and indirect results. 
• Follow up on weekly planning of activities (including distributions, trainings, monitoring, and reporting) and ensure that these activities are in line with the project workplan. 
• Ensure required project materials are developed and used, for example: training modules, workshops, capacity building plans etc. 
• Ensure beneficiary selection criteria and processes are in line with Action Against Hunger’s principles and are well coordinated with other departments (such as MEAL). 
• Ensure that implementing partners are well supported and the quality of their work is monitored and assessed. Facilitate the development and scheduling of outreach activities, such as group counselling sessions. 
• Ensure good relationships and engagement with all program stakeholders.Objective 2: Support on internal and external reporting, and support on the preparation of new proposals (20%) Tasks 
• Work closely with the Nutrition and Health Program Manager in drafting reports for donors on a timely manner. 
• Work closely with the Nutrition and Health Program Manager to prepare monthly internal activity progress reports Work closely with the Nutrition and Health Program Manager in designing new project proposals and budgets. 
• Ensure that the monitoring and evaluation of the program is effective and functioning for both direct and indirect results expected in the project. 
• Work closely with the MEAL department to provide quality analysis and synthesis of information.Objective 3: Finance, Administration, Logistics and HR (20%) 
• Ensure autonomous monthly budget follow up and forecasting for the projects. 
• Ensure timely procurement of goods and services for the program, in close coordination with the Logistics and Admin departments. 
• Ensure cooperation between the Nutrition and Health and support departments (Admin, Logistics and HR).Objective 4: Support humanitarian activities of Action Against Hunger Tasks
• Support Action Against Hunger’s emergency interventions in Moldova and cross border, in collaboration with the other technical departments. 
• Support at identifying new humanitarian needs that might arise, based on the evolving context. 
• Support on building the capacity of the existing Nutrition and Health team to be able to respond to humanitarian needs and gaps when needed.Objective 5: Security 
• Respect the security rules specified in the mission’s security plan, oversee that the team under his/her responsibility complies with the security plan and perform the security management tasks that can be assigned in its protocols.
• Communicate to the security managers of the working location any security related issue or non-compliance with the security plan.

Do you meet the profile required criteria?

• Preferably formal training (university degree, professional training, community training or other) in primary health care, nurse, midwife or public health or social worker, or similar.
• Knowledge about infant and young child feeding, child growth and nutrition.
• Additional knowledge and abilities about the alignment of nutrition with maternal and child health and mental health are considered an asset.
• Demonstrate commitment to promoting and supporting optimal breastfeeding, complementary feeding and maternal as well as child health promotion.
• Demonstratable capacity to supervise train and coach staff.
• 1-2 years of experience working in nutrition or health-related field.
• NGO experience is considered an asset, but not necessary.
• Humanitarian sector knowledge is preferred, but not necessary. 
• A good team worker, good listener, high communication skills and good facilitator are required skills.
• Knowledge about Action Against Hunger is considered an asset, but not necessary.
• English, Romanian, Russian, Ukrainian is considered an asset but not necessary.
• Good understanding and use of MS Office, especially in Excel and Word.
• Availability to travel to project sites across Moldova.
• Valuable prior experience in issues related to the promotion of gender equality or personal commitment to gender equality.

• Formal work contract
• Base: Chisinau (Moldova)
• Salary: according to Action Against Hunger salary scale and to candidate’s previous experience.
