Duties

The Plumbing Maintenance Foreman supervises and carries out scheduled and unscheduled plumbing preventive maintenance and repair work on mission buildings and facilities including residential owned and leased properties.
The Plumbing Maintenance Foreman will direct repair and installation of plumbing parts and equipment as needed to support a variety of systems including but not limited to plumbing building and mechanical systems, potable water treatment and storage, wastewater treatment, fire sprinkler, swimming pool and landscape irrigation.
The Plumbing Maintenance Foreman will have the responsibility to supervise and evaluate the plumbing shop maintenance workers.

Qualifications and Evaluations

Requirements for Announcement Number: Chisinau-2023-14-RA1

EXPERIENCE:  A minimum of three (3) years of experience in the repair and maintenance of building plumbing and mechanical systems and utility treatment operations is required.

JOB KNOWLEDGE:
1. Knowledge of maintenance and repair of plumbing and mechanical systems, fixtures, water treatment, potable water and wastewater treatment plant, swimming pools, fire sprinkler systems including sensors, alarms, building automation systems, hydronic systems, and water heaters.
2. Knowledge of minor component replacement of motors, valves, pumps, controls and recording instruments.
3. Knowledge of testing procedures in control devices to monitor, diagnose faults, determine current operating capacity to the design requirements, all in accordance with U.S. and host country regulations.
4. Knowledge of reading and working from engineering drawings, specifications and material list.

Education Requirements: Completion of Secondary School is required and completion of vocational training from an accredited institute recognized as producing journeyman level technicians with a concentration in plumbing or other construction field principles and application is required.

Evaluations:

LANGUAGE:  Level 3 (Good working knowledge) Speaking, Reading and Writing in English, Romanian and Russian is required.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
1. Must have a valid class B driver's license. Must have had a valid driver's license for a minimum of five (5) years.
2. Communication and interpersonal skills to answer queries from end-users.
3. Ability to work as part of a team, work under pressure and a tight schedule.
4. A flexible approach to work shifts and answer emergency calls at all hours.
5. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds / 25 kg.
