Field Assistant, G4 - UNHCR Otaci - Temporary Appointment



Desired Candidate Profile:

UNHCR is looking for a Field Assistant, G4 position is based in Otaci, Moldova for a period of 2 months, with possibility to further extension. To carry out the functions of the position, the ideal candidate will:

  • Drive UNHCR vehicle for authorized passengers, deliver and collect documents, and other items;
    • Support with the daily site requirements and site maintenance of the bus station;
    • Conduct NFIs distribution, monitoring and post-monitoring;
    • Provide/disseminate information and collect data on relevant issues to UNHCR and report to the supervisor accordingly;
    • Act as interpreter in the exchange of routine information and respond directly to routine queries between UNHCR and local government, and persons arriving at the border respectively;
    • When using the official UNHCR vehicle, log official trips, daily mileage, gas consumption, oil changes, greasing, etc. and prepare reports on usage as required; ensure valid documentation for passengers, items, or cargo in vehicle;
    • Perform day-to-day maintenance, minor repairs and if necessary arrange for other repairs of the assigned vehicles and ensure that the assigned UNHCR vehicles are road or waterway worthy and maintained up to the established security standards.
    • Ensure that the steps required by rules and regulations, or other local requirements, are taken in case of involvement in an accident.
    • Perform other related duties as required, specially related to reception, registration, and assistance of persons of concern of UNHCR.


Working knowledge of English and Russian is mandatory, Romanian is considered as an asset.

Remuneration & Benefits:


A competitive compensation and benefits package is offered. The annual net salary is between MDL 196,193 and MDL 228,893 depending on relevant experience, excluding dependency allowances (if applicable), mandatory medical insurance and pension fund enrolment.
