Position Title: Field Assistant (2 positions)
Duty Station: Palanca, Moldova
Classification: Consultant
Duration: Five months with possibility of extension
All Inclusive Salary: 14000 MDL per month

Context:
Following the launch of military operations across Ukrainian territory on 24 February 2022, substantive flows and displacements across Ukraine and toward neighbouring countries have been reported in the following days. While air travel has been suspended in Ukraine and Moldova, Ukraine shares land border with four European Union (EU) Member States: Poland, Romania, Hungary and Slovakia. Other non-EU countries (3) which share their border with Ukraine include Republic of Moldova, Russian Federation and Belarus.
Large in and outflows of Ukrainian nationals and third-countries nationals have been registered since the beginning of the military operations. Therefore, IOM is supporting the service of the fast track provided by the Moldovan and Romanian Governments. This operation allows the transport of people and provision of services around to whom wants to reach Romania directly after crossing to Moldova.
Under the direct supervision of the Field Team Leader and Emergency Coordinator, and in close coordination with other emergency response units of IOM Moldova mission, the field assistant will be responsible for:
Core Functions / Responsibilities:
- Dissemination of relevant information to affected people on different relevant matters such as CT, GBV, support in case of domestic violence, options to seek asylum or about services related to humanitarian transport to Romania or elsewhere,
- Support to distributions of emergency food and other non-food items on sites,
- Support the local governments in the management of the response and create space for effective partnerships,
- Cooperation with and providing support to other interventions from IOM units such as to medical teams, protection sector unit and DTM enumerators,
- Ensuring that efficient communication channels are in place with all the relevant parties in the Moldova and Romania sides,
- Follows the trends in sites and reports on challenges, gaps and duplications,
- Data entry into a digital platform, providing accurate and verifiable data, disaggregated by gender, age, nationality and vulnerabilities,
- Perform other duties as they might be assigned.
Required Qualifications and Experience
Education
- Diploma in Social Science, Geography, IT, Computer Science, or any other relevant field
Experience
- Experience on registration of beneficiaries and distributions of items.
- Ability to organize an information flow.
- Experience working with International Organizations, INGO an advantage.
- Computer knowledge use including Microsoft Office and ability to use internet and email;
- Excellent organization skills; analytical and creative thinking;
- Excellent communication and team-building skills
Languages
Fluency in Romanian and Ukrainian is required. Knowledge of Russian and or English an advantage.
