Learning and Entrepreneurship Development Coordinator
Chemonics International is seeking a Learning and Entrepreneurship Development Coordinator for the Moldova Future Technologies Activity.
01. PROJECT OVERVIEW
The Moldova Future Technologies Activity (FTA) is implemented by U.S.-based company Chemonics International and is funded by USAID and the Government of Sweden. FTA continues USAID’s and Sweden’s legacy of sector competitiveness programming in Moldova, building on lessons learned and adaptions, relationships, and local partner trust achieved by previous programs over the past 15 years. Building on previous successes in facilitating the development of diverse local partners, FTA uses global market systems framework to continue to build capacity for sustainable, systemic progress while applying best practices to new partners and sectors. FTA co-creates systemic interventions with Moldovan partners to transform selected sectors by applying new technologies, promoting innovation, and integrating with global markets. FTA works in the following sectors: light manufacturing, information and communication technology (ICT), precision engineering, creative industries, and digital media.
02. POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Learning and Entrepreneurship Development Coordinator will work closely with FTA’s University Partnerships and Workforce Expert to develop and pilot new Bachelor and Master degree courses and other professional development courses at the State University of Moldova, Technical University of Moldova, Academy of Fine Arts, State Pedagogical University, and Bălți State University.
The Learning and Entrepreneurship Development Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the implementation of higher education content and assessments; managing content development for education and skills development programs with relevant experts; and working with business associations, partners, and other FTA staff to deliver high-quality content services, on time and on budget, for all assigned projects.
03. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Under the leadership of the FTA’s University Partnerships and Workforce Expert, coordinate the implementation of FTA activities related to development and piloting of new Bachelor and Master's degree courses at State University of Moldova, Technical University of Moldova, Academy of Fine Arts, Pedagogical University and Bălți State University.
- Works with intervention team members to co-design, deploy, oversee, troubleshoot, monitor, and adapt interventions for higher education institutions with partners, grantees, and stakeholders.
- Works with intervention team to identify and recruit Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), Instructional Designers (IDs), and Assessment Development Editors (ADEs).
- Consults on the creation of evaluation materials to assess educational content.
- Works with staff and consultants to audit existing curriculum and ensure new curriculum reflects an integrated diversity and equity lens, including for all youth users and adult facilitators of materials.
- Conducts assessments and analysis to identify new development needs and recommends training methodology. Implement a system of metrics to monitor effectiveness of curriculum and to guide improvements.
- Represents the activity with key stakeholders as required, including donors, host government counterparts, grantees, project vendors, and other USAID projects.
- Manages engagement and cooperation with external stakeholders that are involved in industry development activities.
- Facilitates data collection, monitoring, and adaptation and learning with partners.
- Participates in intervention and activity level collaboration, learning, and adaptation and contributes to activity reporting and annual planning.
- Performs other duties as necessary or assigned.
04. QUALIFICATIONS
- Advanced university degree in relevant field.
- 5 years of project management experience preferred; experience with project management in the academic sphere would be an asset;
- 3 years of experience in learning and development, organizational development, and/or talent management preferred;
- Knowledge and experience in designing, implementing, and assessing high quality learning and academic programs;
- Demonstrated experience working effectively with various industry stakeholders including the private sector, academia, the Government of Moldova, donors, and others.
- Fluency in Romanian and proficiency in English preferred with excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Experience implementing donor-funded programming preferred.
- Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity.
