U.S. Embassy is hiring an Administrative Clerk in Information Management Office

Duties
The Administrative Clerk works as part of a seven-person team, reports to the Information Management Officer and receives daily instructions from the Information Systems Officer and Senior Information Technology and Communications Specialist. The Assistant is responsible for managing Information Resource Management (IRM) support functions including drafting of routine office documents, database entry and maintenance, inventory management, security compliance, internet HTML webpage conversion, first tier support on mobile devices and unsecure UHF emergency handheld radios, receiving customers’ requests for assistance, handling travel and hotel arrangements for IRM/IMO, IRM/ISO, IRM/IPC staff and drafting all unclassified office correspondence to include Diplomatic Notes, handling internal mail, facilitating procurement and inventory activities, and many other facets of IRM office operations.
Qualifications and Evaluations
Requirements:
EXPERIENCE: At least three years in an office environment with progressively higher responsibilities in administrative and clerical tasks are required.
JOB KNOWLEDGE:
- The incumbent must be sufficiently conversant in the IT terminology and technology to accurately identify all relevant components.
- Maintenance of Post IT inventory will require close coordination with IRM's various offices and the GSO Property and Supply and Procurement offices, therefore employee must be knowledgeable of all Post structure, Management functions, and administrative procedures.
- This position also requires the employee to be familiar with present and emerging computer technologies in order to be a fully effective IT procurement representative.
- The incumbent must be conversant with local IT market conditions, knowledgeable of companies' promotions and special offers to facilitate the embassy's trade in up-to-date and cost-effective services. A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite is required.
- This position also requires a good knowledge of office management.
Education Requirements:
- Completion of high school is required.
Evaluations:
LANGUAGE: Level III (Good working knowledge) speaking/reading/writing English, Romanian, and Russian is required. Language proficiency will be tested. (This may be tested.)
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Requires strong interpersonal, communication, organizational and customer service skills.
- Must be able to operate with little oversight.
- Ability to type English, Romanian and Russian is required.
- The incumbent is required to deal tactfully and effectively with all customers.
- Ability to manage her/his time with limited direction is essential to full performance.
- Ability to learn a variety of IRM specific applications and databases is required.
- The employee must have excellent PC skills with an intermediate working knowledge of Microsoft's Outlook, Word, and Excel applications in addition to post's Procurement and other applications.
