Social Worker - Intersos
Job Purpose:
To conduct case management activities for CP cases, GBV survivors and People with Specific Needs (PwSN) among the refugees. To act according to the guiding principles of case management including using a survivor-centered approach, confidentiality, safety, do not harm and non-discrimination. To ensure that protection principles are understood, maintained and enforced. The social worker is also in charge of organizing events on protection and livelihood to which then refer the most vulnerable cases
Duties and Responsibilities:
Case Management
- Detect, counsel and follow up individual cases identified during psychosocial activities or referred by other agencies.
- Conduct psychosocial assessment of vulnerable cases, including environmental, emotional, behavioral, and social factors as well as resources and strengths that impact the individual well- being
- Conduct home visits to assess the living conditions of the cases.
- Refer cases internally for legal assistance, psychological counselling, livelihood support or financial assistance, when needed.
- Ensure coordination with the main service providers in the area of intervention for prompt referral, follow up and information sharing.
- Manage, fill, archive specific forms for cases profiling, referral and weekly reporting ensuring confidentiality, accuracy and timeliness.
- Monitor and follow up the outcome of the material assistance provided by other partner agencies and services providers.
- Be available to provide emergency assistance and basic emotional support for urgent cases.
- Ensure that data protection protocol is respected.
- Support in organizing awareness sessions on protection issues and conduct collective PSS sessions and activities and also livelihood
- Provide daily updates to the supervisor about new cases assessed.
- File and report in detail on all cases with relevant information about the case, background, case plan, follow up and actions taken.
- Provide weekly overview of case management activities on regular basis.
Meetings and Trainings
Participates in meetings and trainings in and outside the centres including case management meetings and case conferences.
Participates in daily staff meetings.
Participates in weekly internal case management meetings for GBV and PwSN.
Job Requirements:
Baccalaureate degree (12th graduated) in social sciences or similar high desirable.
1 year of relevant experience in protection sector.
English is preferable.
Work experience in Protection as emergency response projects is preferable.
Previous experience working for an international NGO is preferable.
Commitment to INTERSOS principles.
Comply with all relevant INTERSOS policies and procedures.
Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to effectively present information and respond appropriately to questions from supervisor in the field.
