Intern (Multimedia)

 I. Project Overview

The USAID Future Technologies Activity continues USAID, Sweden, and UK Aid’s legacy of sector competitiveness programming, building on lessons learned and adaptions, relationships, and local partner trust achieved by previous programs over the past 15 years. FTA uses a global market systems framework to continue to build capacity for sustainable, systemic progress while applying best practices to new partners and sectors. FTA co-creates systemic interventions with Moldovan partners to transform selected sectors by applying new technologies, promoting innovation, and integrating with global markets. FTA focuses on infusing digitalization, innovation and creativity, and sustainability across all sectors, with a particular focus on urban-based technology-enabled sectors including light manufacturing, information and communication technology (ICT), engineering, creative industries, and digital media.

II. Position Description

Intern will focus on creating video content for social media and different campaigns for FTA across multiple platforms, digital and traditional. The subject matter for a particular project will focus in a specific technical area that FTA works in, such as marketing, export promotion, finance and investment, workforce development, green economy, ICT, creative industries, and/or digital media, as well as communications and/or monitoring, evaluation, and learning.

This opportunity offers the intern a learning environment in which they will gain knowledge, skills, and abilities relevant to their studies, while at the same time contributing to the overall objectives of FTA. Daily activities will range from supporting administrative and technical needs, to assisting with planning and organizing events, and/or completing ad hoc research assignments. Tasks for this intern include:

  • Work closely with FTA’s Senior Communications Manager and Communication Specialist, shadowing and learning from the senior manager, while assisting with FTA tasks as assigned.
  • Create and edit multimedia content, including videos, animations, and audio, to enhance FTA’s communication and outreach efforts.
  • Assist in the development of digital storytelling projects that showcase FTA’s impact and initiatives across various sectors.
  • Collaborate with the communications team to produce multimedia content for FTA’s social media platforms.
  • Participate in creative brainstorming sessions and contribute ideas for engaging multimedia content that aligns with FTA’s branding and messaging.
  • Manage and organize multimedia assets, ensuring proper archiving and easy access for the team.
  • Stay updated on multimedia trends and technologies to bring innovative ideas to FTA’s multimedia projects.
  • Performs other duties as necessary or assigned.

III. Qualifications:

  • Enrollment in an accredited university program, or a recent graduate.
  • Demonstrated interest in learning and working in FTA’s target sectors and/or on international donor-funded projects.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with a demonstrated ability to be proactive, resourceful, solutions-oriented, results-oriented, and with the ability to meet deadlines.

IV. Location and Duration of Assignment

The location of the assignment is in Chisinau, with local travel within Moldova as needed. The period of performance will be from on/about September 2, 2024 - on/about July 31, 2025.
