Western NIS Enterprise Fund (WNISEF) announces the 5th International Mayors Summit, hosted in Moldova for the first time, happening on April 11, 2024, in Dănceni, Republic of Moldova, with the theme Building Resilient Communities Through Innovation and Cooperation

The Summit will gather mayors, local leaders, and experts to engage in discussions on critical subjects such as sustainability, the impact of technology on city management, and strategies for strengthening community resilience. The agenda aims to introduce innovative approaches for urban management, encourage sustainable development, facilitate access to European Union funds, and foster collaboration to revitalize and fortify cities, with a particular emphasis on addressing the challenges confronting Ukraine.

In times of global challenges, cities often stand at the forefront, balancing economic development and competing for talent. Amidst the current difficulties faced by Ukrainian cities, their partners have demonstrated remarkable support, ranging from humanitarian aid to fostering systemic urban development initiatives. Initiated in 2016 in Ukraine, the International Mayors Summit has evolved into an important event for local government officials globally to share insights and learn from one another. More than just a conference, it serves as a birthplace for significant projects and collaborations. The Summit has historically attracted city leaders from around the world, establishing itself as an essential forum for the exchange of effective strategies, innovative solutions, and compelling narratives of urban progress.

This year's focus underscores the crucial role of mayors and local governments in tackling contemporary global challenges and promoting the resilience of their communities. The Summit's agenda will feature various activities, including panel discussions, showcases of best practices, and a business exhibition, all intended to cultivate robust partnerships and networking opportunities.

The International Mayors Summit is organized by Western NIS Enterprise Fund. This year, the Summit is held with the support of partners, including Primaria Mea, Comunitatea Plus, CIPE, and Cities 4 Cities.
