Guided by Violeta Talandis, Foreign Service Officer, you will learn how the federal holiday honoring Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was transformed into a day of community service, encouraging all Americans to volunteer and help solve social problems.
*Violeta Talandis is a Foreign Service Officer with experience serving in India, Armenia, Eritrea, Washington, and Guyana. She has a Master's in Social Work from the University of Michigan, from which she received a Fulbright scholarship to study in Lithuania. Violeta is the Regional Engagement Public Specialist covering Ukraine, Romania, and Moldova (REPS). She speaks Russian, Armenian, and Lithuanian.
