America House Chisinau invites everyone to our monthly program - Book Club Meeting. This time we will present the book 𝐁𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐝 by Toni Morrison.
The Novel is based on the true story of an African-American enslaved woman. The novel examines the destructive legacy of slavery as it chronicles the life of a Black woman named Sethe, who, despite being freed, is still held prisoner by her memories.
This book was a bestseller for 25 weeks and won countless awards including the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction. In 1993, Toni Morrison became the first Black woman to win the Nobel Prize in Literature.
The Book Club meetings are organized once a month. Each month a different book is selected from the America House library based on the theme of the month. Participants are not required to read or know about the entire book before the session.
