Gender equality and women’s empowerment in Eastern Partner countries:
CSOs’ role and opportunities for cooperation

ONLINE FORUM, 9–10 FEBRUARY 2022

Civil society organisations (CSOs) from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine are invited to participate in a pioneering online forum to promote partnership, knowledge and the exchange of experiences among CSOs working on gender equality. Organized by the EU4Gender Equality Reform Helpdesk project, funded by the European Union, the forum on 9–10 February 2022 will bring together CSOs, international organisations, experts, gender advisers and activists from all six Eastern Neighborhood countries to discuss key issues and challenges to gender equality and women’s empowerment in the region.

Participants will have the opportunity to:

• Learn from gender and sectoral experts from Eastern Neighbourhood
• Analyse current gender equality challenges and opportunities.
• Discuss lessons learned, and the approaches and strategies to drive transformative change. 
• Develop and strengthen a network for information and knowledge exchange.
• Plan future actions in collaboration with CSOs from other countries. 

The online forum will include panel discussions with CSOs and experts, focusing on:

• Strategies to prevent and eliminate violence against women.
• Social and economic empowerment of women: Challenges and perspectives.
• Implementing the women, peace and security agenda;
• Gendering the green transition and digital transformation: Challenges and opportunities.
• Challenges for civil society in the Eastern Neighbourhood

Forum working languages: English and Russian.
