Join America House Chisinau for virtual screening and discussion of the short movie “LEGENDARY: 30 Years of Philly Ballroom” produced by an Emmy-winning video team.

The documentary is an inside look into the effort to preserve Philadelphia's ballroom scene, a black LGBTQ safe-space that has endured for 30 years.

After the movie, you will have the opportunity to address your questions to Maxim Cuclev - a queer nonbinary activist from Chișinău, Moldova. At the moment, one of the positions he occupies is the transgender and gender nonconforming support group coordinator at GenderDoc-M Information Center, a local LGBTQ+ rights organization. Maxim is also quite passionate about ballroom and drag culture.

The event is held during the LGBTI Pride Month. Pride month is also an opportunity to peacefully protest and raise political awareness of current issues facing the community.
