Caritas Czech Republic in Moldova is looking for a Project Officer

Project Officer
I. Position Information
Job title: Project officer
Type of position: Full-time
Duration of the contract: 1 April 2026 – 31 December 2026
Place of work: Chisinau, Moldova
Direct superior: Project Manager
II. Organizational context
Caritas Czech Republic (CCR) is a non-profit organization based in Prague that implements development cooperation projects in 6 countries across the world (Europe, Asia, Middle East and Africa).
We have been working in Moldova since 2004. Over the years, we implemented 37 development cooperation projects in home and social care, small business development, civil society development, agriculture, lively hoods support and inclusion areas.
From 1st of January 2024, Caritas Czech Republic in Moldova (CCR MD) is starting a 3 years program aimed at improving the water and sanitation facilities for the students and school staff of 25 schools in Moldova as well as to increase hygiene awareness for the students, parents, school staff, local authorities, and the surrounding to the selected schools’ population in 25 communities. In this regard, we are looking to hire a Project Officer.
III. Responsibilities
The project officer will provide organizational and administrative support for the implementation of the project.
Tasks and duties of the position:
- Work closely with the Project Manager to ensure the consistency of the project;
- Actively participate in planning activities, budget spending and reporting;
- Develop and maintain the project information and coordinate all inputs in the project documentation. Develop and keep evidence of project’s trackers;
- Develop and maintain effective partnerships with beneficiaries and partners through a sensitive and respectful communication. If necessary, participate in meetings with partners and beneficiaries;
- Collecting the project’s information for the communication department;
- Contribute to the development of Procurement plans according to CCR rules and procedures;
- Conducting regular field monitoring visits to the targeted project schools, to ensure compliance with project timelines;
- Follow the CCR policies and procedures and donor requirements in the implementation of all activities;
- Perform other duties that are essential for the quality implementation of activities.
IV. Required skills
- Bachelor Degree in social sciences, human rights, law, economics or other relevant field (a Masters’ Degree will be an asset);
- At least 1 year of working experience in a Project Officer position. Experience with a local or international NGO is an advantage.
- Proven commitment to the core human rights principle of equality and non-discrimination.
- Written and spoken proficiency in English, Romanian, and Russian;
- Computer literacy, including knowledge of and experience with word processors (MS Word), spreadsheets (Excel), Outlook. Previous experience in SharePoint is an asset;
- Good organizational skills and ability to analyze information;
- Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work sensitively with people from various cultural and social backgrounds.
