GIZ - Junior Digitalisation Partner

The German Development Cooperation (GIZ) is seeking a Junior Digitalisation Partner to support IT operations and cloud transformation at the Country Office in Chisinau.
This is a part-time position (50%), expected to start in March 2026 and continue until March 2027.
The overall responsibilities covered by this position are as follows:
- Maintain information systems, networks, and servers across country and project offices.
- Install, upgrade, and maintain IT equipment (computers, printers, CCTV systems, scanners, servers, and access control systems).
- Monitor hardware and software for security and performance issues, ensuring compliance with the IT Operations Policy.
- Maintain an accurate inventory of hardware, software, licenses, and cloud subscriptions.
- Perform system administration via Entra ID and provide end-user support.
- Serve as the point of contact for HQ IT Operations (Global IT Services).
- Support the migration from legacy systems to cloud-based services.
- Assist with the planning and configuration of Microsoft 365, Entra ID, SharePoint Online, Intune, and Azure components.
- Ensure secure identity and access management (IAM), including MFA enforcement and Conditional Access policies.
- Monitor and optimize cloud resources, storage, and security baselines.
- Implement backup and disaster recovery (DR) concepts leveraging Azure Backup and related services.
- Implement IT security measures and support ISO-related operational ISMS activities.
- Monitor vulnerabilities and maintain system security through regular updates and patch management.
- Detect and respond to local security incidents in accordance with the Incident Management Policy.
- Provide security awareness support to staff and ensure compliance with the Acceptable Use Policy.
- Maintain user permissions and access controls to prevent unauthorized access.
- Resolve technical and connectivity issues, ensuring service continuity.
- Support onboarding and offboarding processes for employees and external partners.
- Advise on IT procurement, integration, and technical evaluation.
- Maintain documentation of IT processes and perform general IT administration tasks.
- Prepare regular oral and written reports for various stakeholders.
Required qualifications:
- BSc/MSc in Information Technology or equivalent professional experience
- Certification for Microsoft Windows Server 2022, Windows 11, and MS Office M365 or equivalent experience is an advantage
- Minimum 3 years' experience in an IT position or similar IT area experience
- Practical experience in implementing security standards or participating in ISMS activities is an advantage
- Outstanding knowledge of IT hardware and software, computer network systems, database software, and network security
- Knowledge of GIZ systems and specific GIZ software (S/4HANA, WINPACCS, etc.) is ideal
- Excellent presentation, communication, and reporting skills with ability to present complex technical details in business context
- Strong documentation, reporting, and communication skills
- Good time management, ability to prioritize and work independently
- Outstanding working knowledge of ICT technologies and computer applications (Office 365)
- Good command of English language and team spirit
- Willingness to upskill as required by assigned tasks
- Moldovan citizenship or permanent residence status in the Republic of Moldova.
