GIZ - Communication Specialist
GIZ is looking for a Communication Specialist for its project “Strong Businesses & Communities for Moldova”. The project is financed jointly by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and the European Union.
This position is planned to start in July 2025 and last for a 6-month period with the possibility to be extended, based on a successful employment period and project extension.
The permanent workplace for this position is in Chisinau. The overall responsibilities covered by the position are as follows:
- Strategic Communication Planning:
Implementing the project's communication and visibility strategy, with a focus on effectively communicating results and impacts. - External Communication Management:
Coordinating and managing collaboration with external communication service providers, ensuring the delivery of high-quality services and adherence to project objectives. - Quality Assurance of Communication Outputs and Events:
Ensuring the quality and consistency of all communication products and outputs (e.g. printed materials, online content), including management of service provider pools as well as events organised by partners and the project.
Required qualifications:
- Master’s degree in communications, journalism, public relations or equivalent professional work experience in the communication area,
- At least 3 years general work in communication and visibility, preferably within the international development community,
- Experience with the communication and visibility framework of GIZ as well as the EU is an advantage,
- High level of sensitivity, eloquence and a confident manner communicating in a political context,
- Excellent knowledge of written and oral English, Romanian & Russian; German would be an asset,
- Strong command of communication technologies and applications,
- Curiosity and willingness to learn,
- Proven ability to identify opportunities and to effectively manage relationships with media representatives, government officials and other GIZ partners,
- Mature initiative, tact and high sense of responsibility,
- Be able to work autonomously and on own initiative while reporting regularly to the line manager,
- Be a team player, supportive of colleagues and able to ask for support when required,
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational and time management skills; ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization and donor landscape in Moldova,
- Excellent planner and implementer, capable of withstanding pressure and meeting tight deadlines,
- Excellent computer skills (MS Office, Outlook, Internet and other),
- Basic programming skills, graphic design, and photo editing skills in the field of layout software are an asset,
- Willing and able to travel inside the country for event support, when needed,
- Moldovan citizenship or holding permanent resident status in Moldova.
