Background:

The OSCE Mission to Moldova invites candidates to apply for the temporary assistance roster. Successful candidates may be assigned to Daily Appointments or Short-Term Monthly Appointments in the capacity of a Cleaner. 


Appointments are usually are on an “as required” basis and may range from one (1) day to six (6) months in total, during afternoon hours (14:00–18:00), excluding weekends and official holidays.


Under the general supervision of the Chief of Fund Administration and direct supervision of the National Procurement/Materials Management Officer, the incumbent is responsible for cleaning and keeping in good conditions the premises of the Mission.

Tasks and Responsibilities: 

  1.    Dust furniture; clean doors, windows, toilets, and sinks; mop, wash, or vacuum floors and carpets; empty waste bins and keep cleaning equipment in good condition;
  2.    Clean and sanitize countertops, sinks, appliances; operate and unload the dishwasher; maintain coffee machines, kettles, and microwaves; clean dishes and utensils; empty the refrigerator and dispose of expired items. Collect and dispose of trash and recyclables.
  3.    Monitor kitchen and cleaning supplies (e.g., coffee, tea, sugar, milk, paper towels, detergents, garbage bags); promptly inform supervisor of low stock levels.
  4.    Prepare meeting rooms by preparing and resetting meeting rooms (placing water, glasses, cups, napkins, and other items), and serving beverages or light refreshments for visitors upon request.
  5.    Maintain plants in common and meeting areas; report maintenance issues such as leaks or broken fixtures.
  6.    Perform other related tasks as required.

Necessary Qualifications:

  • Primary education;
  • One year experience in cleaning premises/offices with ability to use general cleaning and household equipment;
  • Good communication skills in Romanian and Russian Languages;
  • Ability to work with people of different nationalities, religious and cultural backgrounds;
  • Resident of the Republic of Moldova.

Remuneration Package: 

Monthly remuneration, subject to social security deduction is EUR 363.75. OSCE salaries are exempt from taxation in Moldova. Appointments are normally made at step 1 of the applicable OSCE salary scale.
